Washington has become the resident town whore. If you got the cash, Washington's got the time.

Blatche starts.

Seraphin is not coming to the NBA this year.

Booker is a rookie back-up, may not be ready to play minutes so they can get Yi to back up for them.

Actually I think they're targeting LeBron plus Amare. I bet if they locked up Lebron that Amare would come for the remaining 14 mil.

The trade is Yi for Ross, Seraphin, or Hayward. They haven't said yet.

Amar'e isn't taking $13.5 mil.

In return, the Wiz are sending the Nets Quinton Ross’s $1.146 contract, which enables the Nets to increase their cap space to precisely $30 million – a nice round number that will get you LeBron James ($16.5M) and a stud who can start out at $13.5M.

The Wizards won't be taking back Beasley. Or anybody else. Once they do this, they're capped out.

From what I've read, Seraphin IS coming over, or it is at the very least a possibility.

Well if he does then they can give him like 5-10 minutes a game or just have him develop slowly. He is only 20.

NJ are dummies for doing this. They are the one team that can totally miss this offseason with MAX talent. Why trade your talking SF/PF for cap space when you probably cant fill the space you have now.

The reason the Nets did this is because Yi Jianlian is a terrible, terrible, awful, basketball player.

yep, that trade is looking horrendous by the minute

Unwarranted negativity. How trading for a young player with promise on a $4M/year contract is the same as trading for Jared Jeffries is beyond me. If anything, Walsh acted at the right time because teams like Chicago and New Jersey hadn't entered the market yet because Hinrich and Yi were still of value to them.

Not only is Yi a promising young player, but he opens up a BILLION DOLLAR market to the Wizards who need all the positive PR they can get after Gilbertgate.

What does any of this have to do with Walsh moving Jeffries? Answer: NOTHING except to give nay-sayers fodder for inventing reasons to be negative.

I think New Jersey obviously wants Lebron but if they can't land him, then I believe it's

Gay/Lee and they will sign a backup point guard with the money left over.

They very well may give

Lee $13.5
Gay $13.5

and then sign a backup point for $3mil

Because Yi essentially sucks. He plays no defense, doesn't block shots and doesn't rebound and is injury prone. He is essentially a slimmer Eddy Curry without the post game but with a jumper. They don't lose a thing by trading him.

How "young" he is is completely up to speculation. I personally believe that he was born in 84, and is therefore 26. I think 3m must be changing hands here, as well. And perhaps some future considerations, too.

If you are the Wizards, you do take Beasley and a draft pick for maybe a second rounder. It is a case of buying low, and exploiting the situation.

Exactly Yi was nothing special he will not be missed especially if they can land two stars. They had no choice they had to get into the mix. They have now passed the Bulls for cap space I believe.

I believe they're a bit short of the Bulls. Close enough not to matter much.

After the Draft many people were saying that they took Favors as a trade asset. Whoever they are targetting with their second Max space, they might offer Favors + TPE in a S+T.
