While there has been little said as to who will manage the Toronto Blue Jays after this season, one name has emerged, and it's former Jays' catcher Sal Fasano.
According to MLB.com's Cleveland Indians beat reporter Anthony Castrovince, the 11-year veteran is an 'early candidate' to replace Cito Gaston, who is retiring as the Jays manager at the end of the season.
Fasano, who was a member of the Jays in 2007, is currently a manager in the Jays' system, leading the Single-A Lansing Lugnuts.
Haha, I loved Fasano during his brief stint here in a Blue Jays uniform.
I know he's a really early candidate -- this is just a rumor, and nothing is serious yet. But I still think that this is more a "fun" idea than a smart one. But catchers do make the best managers...
