But isn't this apartment the same as one talked about earlier?

We can't celebrate until he has his cars shipped here and buys a condo somewhere ;)

I guess I wasn't part of that discussion haha. Its nice to hear something positive coming from LeBron's direction after all the hate we've been getting.

How the HELL is NJ ahead of us in the Bron race?

I don't want to read too much into this, or even accept it as fact, but if he really was apartment hunting, the timing is very interesting and definitely screams that he (and his girlfriend) wanted to get a feel for NYC and what they could get. Afterall, 13 million is getting him plenty less in NYC than in Akron. I think it is only smart to look at apartments before making a decision.

The Nets are not ahead of the Knicks or the Bulls and probably not even the Heat. He's not going to NJ for two years.

This is a good post.

Your right. 13 million in the city will get him less. It is smart to take a look before you move. I dont think it means anything more but it is good news. Because you wont look if your not interested in the city. Does not mean its a lock. Does mean that there is consideration.

WTF is with all these reports? Wasn't it reported that the big three had the free agent summit in Miami finally? Even tho Wade's agent said Wade wasn't in Miami, it was still reported that they met in Miami this past weekend. Honestly, I'm not even listening to reports anymore except for the breaking news when they actually sign.

I'm just curious, why so sure about this?
Don't most New York Knicks live in NJ anyway?
NJ has a new billionaire owner.
A brand new arena.
Brooklyn in two years.
Probably the best supporting cast and a ton of cap room and future trade assets.
A chance for Lebron to truly form his own legacy.
A major media market.

Berman reported on LBJ's alleged apartment hunting:

James apparently made his own recruiting visit last week, spending Thursday, Friday and Saturday in New York -- perhaps a good sign for the Knicks. Fox Business Network yesterday interviewed a real estate agent who said James looked at a $13 million condo in Greenwich Village.

Before Brett Favre signed with the Vikings I heard from a reliable source (never made the news... I think) that he was looking at houses in and around Minneapolis. You know all know how that ended.

That said, it's possible that all of this apartment hunting talk (not just in NY) could have some meaning behind it... or urban legend b.s. I think it's important not to down play it, but no need to over stress its importance. Take a mental note of it and move on.

Everyone knows Lebron loves Manhattan so he may be buying an apartment downtown just because he knows he is about to get a new Max contract from someone. A lot of athletes own homes in Southern Florida including A-Rod & Jeter yet neither of them play for the Marlins....

LeBron James, Ohio native and potential cash cow for NYC, apparently visited a nearly $13 million apartment in the Big Apple this past weekend. Prudential Douglas Elliman vice chairman Dolly Lenz told FOX Business's Liz Claman, "He was spotted the day before yesterday at a Greenwich Village condo. Looking, and trying it out -making sure the ceilings were high enough. It was actually quite interesting. The one he was looking at is $12,950,000-esque."

This would be the second apartment the "King" allegedly perused (the first may have been this one in Columbus Circle, though it's unclear whether it's just wishful thinking). But does this mean he wants to play for the Knicks? Well, according to the Post's Marc Berman, the Knicks are trailing in the LeBron sweepstakes—they are even behind the Nets!

Yeah okay, like he's gonna shop for apartments in NY the week before July 1st and let the media have a field day with it.

Return to New York Knicks
