You must be kidding. You would rather that than Lee or Deng? Those two are far more productive then Beasley or Chalmers.

No kidding. I'm not sure where the hate for those guys come from. Dengs pretty good and he'd be a good fit on this team. Lee on the other hand is a legit 20/12 power forward. We'd have to trade Bargs for hopefully a defensive C, but at least we'd have some scoring/rebounding.

Ahahahaha.

Sure Beas isn't too good on D, but Lee WILL never be more than he is now..and that is a glorified garbage man in Mike D's system. Beas is 21.

Lee will be one HUGE mistake, and will possibly give us the worst starting defensive front court of all time with him and Bargnani.

There's a reason why Knick fans DO NOT want Lee back..and it's more than just because they're targeting bigger names.

David Lee is like a white Zach Randolph without the skill. He's all cleanup and whoever signs him will regret it within 6 months.

That would suck... I'd rather just take Beasley back and have a bigger TPE (taking it down from about 11-12 million to around 10 million)-- which could mean we now wouldn't have the absorb Okafor or Ellis in a salary dump to acquire young talent.

It's not like a 27 year-old Joel is an upgrade at C (in fact he'd probably take some important minutes away from Alabi/Amir), and Chalmers is a pretty mediocre PG (although it would be interesting to see if he could be used in a salary dump deal for Collison). And we didn't even get our pick back :(

If the Raptors are taking Beasley, be sure that AT LEAST 1 pick is involved, preferably our pick back. This means the Heat are now comfortably in the range of 3 max deals territory. Anthony has no value at all and Chalmers is a good backup who is maybe worth a 1st rounder.

So IMO theres 2 possibilities:

Beasley + Chalmers + a pick
or
Beasley + 2 picks

Anthony can or cannot be included, it doesn't matter at all although he would be a good backup center this year before Alabi is ready to take on the backup spot in 2011-2012 (he should be 3rd string this year).

if we are to entertain this, we would have demar + sonny + beasley + amir = have we ever had such an athletic combo of players with skill?

This would give us a ton of pieces to trade though. Once this is over with (if its true) BC can (or not) put some interesting packages together.

I feel we need that function.

As BC would say, we'll consider the poll fluid.

I don't hate Lee, but I'd much prefer Beasley, primarily because we would have to immediately sign David Lee to a (probably) long-term deal on which he'd (probably) be overpaid. And, since I'm personally of the belief that Bryan Colangelo won't trade Bargnani, we'd have to watch a Lee-Bargs (possibly + Turk) frontcourt for the next year.

If I believed BC would be willing to trade Bargs, I'd be a bit more amenable to a Lee acquisition. But as it stands, I'd prefer a 21-year-old Beasley still on his rookie deal.

Honestly, this guy is saying that Bosh and Wade are only dealing through their agent, and Riley isn't involved.

Then how does he know who the Heat are going to trade to the Raptors?

Beasley is the type of personality that couldn't co-exist with Bargs. He will think he is our best player. Plus, I can't stand the looks of the guy the little I see of him. 82 games of his idiocy will be difficult. lol.
Won't there be concerns he will be a locker room cancer. Just sayin'.

I really like Anthony. He'd look good next to Bargs. I'm happy about Beasley and Chalmers too. Hopefully we get a 1st out of it.

(Nvm, RapsFaninVA seems to know the score.)

Like Ozzy said, I'm guessing things like picks/cash could be included and it just isn't being reported yet. I sure hope so, anyway.

I think picks and cash are coming too. Makes sense anyway. So now the Raps also have 15 million in expiring contracts and like 34 guys on the team, right?

I would think picks have to be coming back, we're doing MIA a huge favour by taking the throw-away-able beasley, and mediocre role players in chalmers and anthony, freeing up more cap space for them. At least a first has to be coming back or I walk from this deal - why help you divisional rival even more while they hold your pick? It'd be like the Leafs all over again...

We have commitments or likely commitments with 13 players. Not all the commitments are iron-clad.

Alabi
Banks*
Bargnani
Belinelli*
Calderon
Davis
Dorsey*
DeRozan
Evans*
Jack
Johnson - free agent, but I believe he's returning
Turkuglu
Weems*

* = expiring
Chalmers would be expiring, Beasley would be expiring if we didn't pick up his option by Oct. 31

Hard to imagine a place for Dorsey with or without Anthony, so I think we're realistically at 12 without any Miami players.

Taking Chalmers would likely speed trades of Banks and one of Calderon/Jack.

Isn't Joel a RFA? How can he be traded before he signs a deal?

So Anthony, Davis, Beasley, Weems, Chalmers for the bench +Belli
why was hakeem called "the dream"??"

Because it rhymes with 'Olajuwon'.

if the heat are trying to "give away" beasley for nothing, why are we making him a centrepiece of a s+t for cb4?

I'm not in any way, shape, or form saying this is true, or should be viewed as such, but agents and the people who work for them leak things all the time, as do people who work for NBA teams like the Raptors.

Awful. I'd personally rather get nothing back than to help the Heat like this. If there's no TPE or pick, that is.

I don't care if Beasley does have potential. He does have a lot of offensive potential, but potential is always a maybe. The one thing that is clear is that he doesn't care, that's an absolute.

If we are going to trade one of our PGs, getting Chalmers as a backup for a salary of 850K is a good idea.

Having Joel be our back up C for 1 M is also a good idea.

Not exactly sure how this works out or if it can even happen. However, if the deal was Beasley/Chalmers/Anthony and the TE for whatever the difference is (I saw someone throw out $9M), I wouldn't be all that disappointed.

You're right but the problem is - is there even an ounce of ball handling ability in that group?

So to max out the most of those talents you need Nash or Kidd distributing them the ball. Beas doens't have 3 pt range yet either.
