I have a funny feeling that Rod the great Thorn is going to pull off a trade with Denver to get Melo to NJ. This is the guy who drafted MJ traded for Kidd, now he is going to pull off a blockbluster deal once again.

I'd offer them Harris, but I doubt they take on another starting PG. Our tradeable assets, not just for Carmelo, include anyone currently on the team outside of Brook. We could offer them expirings, cap room, young talent, and/or a few of the eight picks we have in the next two drafts.

Carmelo would have to sign an extension before coming or we could have to heavily entice a FA into coming so that he signs his extension here.

Let's say if something happened like that, as a longshot I think it is...something like Humphries and picks for him...would we be able to still trade something like Devin and Favors for Paul AND take on one of their big contracts like Okafor?

If Thorn could get the Nuggets GM drunk enough to accept Ross + Humphries + A gazillion picks for Carmelo Anthony and the Nets sent out Harris and Favors in a CP3 trade...

Yeah the Nets could take back Okafor, and still have around $3 million in cap space to spare...

It sounds like complete speculation by a bored Denver sports writer. At least trading Chris Paul had some basis to it, this seems even more improbable.

Would no doubt love to get Melo. For what this team is missing he would be a very interesting piece. In fact I think I would do Kmart + Melo for picks/capspace/1 young guy/humphries. Blows a lot of cap room but IMO this lineup would compete with any team out there. Not sure what it would do to the cap this year but Kmart is at least an expiring.
