Melo is on the Block

Post#1 » by Dalakerbox » Wed Jun 30, 2010 4:10 pm

maybe this is the time to offer up Bynum,Odom, Sasha some drafts picks some cash and what ever else it takes to make a Melo trade work, and maybe even Melo and Nene. I know I know pipe dream...but if anyone else has the pieces to make that trade work why not us. It hurts that there in the West though doubt they would trade to a western conference team, and of course there is still a chance he signs that darn extension. Nothing more than a fun topic

trading bynum/odom for an all-star big man? tolerable. trading them for a sf? heck no.

I would of course push for Nene, but to be honest I would do it even with out Nene as Melo would become our future. But the Nugs would most likely want Artest over Odom. Either way I know it's not happening like I said nothing more than a fun topic

would you consider trading for Al Jeffereson at all?

I honestly think (hope not) that the Lakers will try to use Sasha as their point guard again this year

:(

I would love to see Lamar & Sasha for Al Jefferson then send Bynum to the Wizards for Kirk and Mike Miller.

Starting Line-up:

PG: Kirk
SG: Kobe
SF: Artest
PF: Pau
C: Al Jeff

Key Reserves: Fisher, Miller, MLE and whoever we would have had fill out our roster anyways.

Why does Minnesota do it? They get Odom and Sasha (expiring) - Also they both know the Triangle which Rambis is trying to put in place there.

Why does Washington do it? They have 200 guards and with Wall, Hinrich is a waste. Miller for Bynum is a great deal.

why would the wolves want an inferior, older, not that much cheaper player in odom over jefferson?

They were trying to move him last I heard... Odom really is a quintessential triangle player. Don't destroy my dreams.

so then we have the usual starting 5, with a new Pg and jefferson at the 5

Then we've got a reserve for artest, who already has walton and ebanks, who will make the roster i just hope phil gives him the minutes he derserves... and our back up bigs are? powell and mbenga? their leaving this year as well so who will be our reserves at the 4 and 5?

I think CAVs execs should be on the phone with Nuggets right now. Sign and Trade LeBron. Is that possible? I mean LeBron doesn't have a No Trade clause does he?

Nope Kobe has the only active No Trade Clause unless Dirk gets one in his new contract with the Mavs

I think Paul Pierce will be getting a no trade clause for sure this time around.

We then move bynum for Mike Miller and Kirk Hinrich... so we have essentially gotten Al Jefferson, Mike Miller and Kirk Hinrich for Bynum, Odom and Sasha.

We upgraded offensively without losing anything major defensively (hinrich would be an upgrade imo) and we've gotten deeper.

We would still have our MLE to get a PF/C now (which is easier than finding an elite guard)

What about the chemistry and they have to learn triangle that is a lot of personnel to move. Unless Wade Bosh and James join forces. I wouldn't want to tinker with the team that much.

And how do we acquire mike miller AND kirk Hinrich for bynum when miller is a free agent, and kirk hinrich is with the wizards
No one said we need an elite guard, so your saying we can sign an elite big with just our MLE?

That's not how it works. Lebron isn't signed anymore and simply won't sign knowing he will be traded to Denver. No trade clause isn't even needed. Regardless won't happen. Doubt Lebron wants to come into the West, he would have it easier in a top heavy East.
