I heard Portland will be waiving him.....should we try and pick him up for depth?

What a random post. What does our backup shooting guard have to do with whether or not we should sign a backup power forward?

I'd sign him, but not for the price that he probably wants.

Rather keep Joey at a cheaper price.

We need a big, not another small forward trying to play big. dudes only 6'7. we need some legit size.

I wouldn't mind Gomes for the minimum... he could fill the role that we never replaced when Kleiza left... at least he's a combo forward who should play like 10 minutes...

the guy is one inch taller than j.r.. i'd rather keep waiting for a conventional pf.

depending on the contract I would try to get him. As already said he would make a decent replacement for Kleiza.

As for Resigning Graham, just remember you get what you pay for, and one is an end of the bench scrub begging for a minimum contract, and the other is a solid rotation option.

Graham would probably be the best 12th man in the league.

Serviceable and plays hard, well worth the minimum contract.

He may be average for a 12th men. I know some Nuggets fans love to overate end of the bench guys, but Joey Graham had exactly one game that I would say was anything close to impressive. He cannot shoot, is an average rebounder for a SF, has trouble with defense on the perimeter, cannot dribble, struggles to guard bigger guys in the post. Not someone you want playing any kind of real role, or meaningful minutes and worse he is not a young guy so it is not like you can expect him to develop into anything servicable.

Now Gomes on the other hand is a solid 7th or 8th man who can do a little bit of everything including hit inside and outside shots, plays okay defense, is an average rebounder, and is also a decent passer. He is a guy who will get more then the minimum, and in my mind is worth somewhere around half the MLE on a 3 or 4 yr term.

Gomes is all right if he's a 9 or 10th man. He is inconsistent, but will play very well from time to time.
