He's a plan C IMO if Lebron doesnt sign with us and the Grizzlies match our offer to Gay. A 3 year deal fair?

I would be pretty happy with a 3 year deal in the $30 - $35 range.

edit: Oops, fixed the accidental low balling.

He was not athletic to begin with, and seems to have lost much of whatever he did have.

Though for the right price he would be nice. Not so sure how much will be in the tank in year 3.

Even if he is on the decline, I imagine he would still be a semi decent expiring contract, ala TMac this year.

I think he's better than Gay still. I think he would be a good veteran presence. So yes, they should offer him a 3-yr deal between $10-12 million a year.

I love Pierce's game. One of my fav players in the league. And even at 32, he's the type of SF we're looking for. Can drop 20ppg while maintaining high % from FG, 3PT, and FT, rebounds, passes, steals. A 3 year deal sounds good to me.

Pierce would be nice, but i doubt he wants to play for anything else then a contender and i think he'll re-sign with the Celtics.

Also, he surely hasn't opted out of guaranteed money to take anything less then a max deal for at least 3 years. So get ready for something around $50 mil(or more) for 3 years, if you're interested in his services.

Sure if Lebron goes to Miami and Joe ends up in New York. Why not??

Well looks like ESPN just announced that Pierce opted out of his contract to join the huge free agent class we have this year!

I don't mind if Clippers try to get him!

Pierce is going to want to get paid this can be our fall back I say 3 years +1 more as a team option to make it look better.

I think it will take 4 years to get Pierce. And it's a good move for you guys.

Besides LeBron, I think he is the Clips best option. I doubt he'll leave Boston though

I would actually prefer him to JJ and Gay. He knows what it takes to win, and would be a great veteran presence on the team. I would offer 4yrs/60mil.

I think thats what it would take to lure him away from Boston. Remember, he's walking away from $21 million next season, so adding two more years at $5 to $7 million won't get his attention.

He may certainly lose a step over the next 4 seasons, but he hasn't lost it yet. He played great defense against LeBron and always drew the other team's best defender. With Doc signing up for another season, I think he'll lean toward to resigning in Boston unless you make him a huge offer.

Yeah I agree. Doc coming back made it a bit harder. 15M per year is way more than I'd like to pay him though. I'm not sure what Boston will offer, but I wouldn't go higher than 12.5M per year. He'll be 36-37 by the time that 4th year is up.

Yeah, I think Doc returning strongly increased the chances that Pierce will go back to the Celts

I feel like Doc must've known what Pierce was gonna do before he agreed to return. I'm sure they've spoken, and Pierce is just opting out in order to re-work his contract with the C's.

But hey, a phone call couldn't hurt.

I doubt that Pierce will leave since Doc is coming back
