Pekovic will be a great fit for us. He is different from Al in a lot of the ways that make Al a poor fit. Pekovic runs the court really well in transition. In the half court if he is not setting up post position he never steps moving. He has a great motor. Then when he gets the ball he makes very quick moves/decisions with it, which allows him to shoot a very high % and draw a lot of fouls.

Our team is going to be so fun to watch next year it is going to be ridiculous.

Krapinsky, you always have a way of making me feel sooooooooooooooo much better :)

That is one of the main concerns about Al is the offense dies once he gets his hands on the ball. If pek is better at getting guys open, can run the floor, and makes quick decisions with the ball as you say, it could really work. do you agree that he would be best used as Darko's back up for 18-22 mpg (which is what he averages in europe. Dude does score at a extremely efficient rate.

We then would just need a long, athletic, 3/4 type player... which is way Im looking at Anthony Randolph.

Pek will essentially backup Darko and Love. He can play either position fine. Dude is just a mountain of muscle, with serious attitude. Rambis wants the guys to be tougher and 'nasty' I think Pek is a perfect example of that. Kahn and Rambis were intrigued with the idea of playing both at the same time as well...

Pek would make a nice scoring punch off the bench. I am just worried about the offense that a love/Darko starting front court could produce.

Pek is nasty.

Anyone remember "The Bash Brothers" from those Mighty Ducks movies?

With Pek and Darko, we'd have our very own Serbian/Montenegrin Bash Brothers!!!
"Llevaré mi talento a Minnesota".

Cornstein said he didn't think the Wolves' negotiations with European prospect Nikola Pekovic would affect the Darko negotiations, although it will in this way:

You can bet Milicic won't take less than what Pekovic gets. Pekovic's agents could be seeking as much as $5 million a year, which, of course, doesn't mean they'll get that much.

"He was the starting center for them," Cornstein said about his client.

I thought you were calling Klomp a cocky Cornstein and I was thinking "where did that come from". Then I read the quote.

I agree that Darko should get more than Pekovic.

I still think Darko's deal should have at least one of the following:
A team option after the 1st, and 2nd years (can you do that?)
Start small and then go up each year (combined with the team options, might keep his head on straight and motivated).

I don't know how confident I feel in him bringing it every night, or at all, once he get's a big deal. I know he said his drive is there, and he seems to like it here, I just feel he is prone to mental ups and downs, and that most coaches aren't very fond of players like that; thus, falling out of favor with the coach and getting limited minutes, thus not trying hard, pouting, and wanting to go to Europse.
