Any more major moves expected ?

Post#1 » by AnDrOiDKing4 » Mon Jun 28, 2010 8:23 pm

I think the Kings are done for the off season save a minor move in Free Agency for some role players.

I think we look to next offseason when Dalamberts deal comes off the books we would have near the max or the max to play with after we sign Landry to an extension (I hope)

What do you all think, and who are some big name free agents next year ?

If we make a move it will be BIG! I don't see it happening though. In fact if Reke and DMC live up to their potential billing we're just one very good player and pieces away from being annual contenders in a bout 2-3 years.

I was thinking we could help facilitate a 3way trade where we would send dalembert to the wolves, big al jefferson to team 3 and team 3 would send us something to fill out our roster and a pick to minnesota/sweetner. I just dunno of which team or what we would target but i can see some potential there

No more major moves, unless you count signing a few FA's for backup PG/SG as "major".

Probably the biggest thing left is us signing a point guard or shooting guard. At least point hopefully Raymond Felton and try to snag Sherron Collins. Then for shooting guards hopefully Korver, or Miller. Redick's even good enough.

Hopefully we can trade away Cisco though for something.

I think there is a possibility we will sign another shooting guard, but I think we are just as likely to take one of our summer invites instead.

I think Petrie should just see what this team can do before killing his capspace. Still some major moves ahead, my prediction is one of Landry or Thompson is gone at the deadline, possibly in a MAJOR move. They are both at the stage of their contracts where we are going to have to sign them for the future/extend them and signing both probably doesn't make much sense. We'll see I guess.

Seeing how both are dirt cheap no reason to move them they make a combined 5.1 Million. In fact I think this is the perfect time to extend them lock both up for cheapy for the next couple of years.

i say kings should let the dust settle from the FA spending spree. there is going to be a lot of $$$ handed out this year. probably in our best interest being a smaller market to let the big markets dry up their cap space this year and really make a run at a star next offseason. we should sign a cheap pg to even out the roster maybe even on a 1 yr offer since there isnt anyone we are drooling over

Too risky. JT and Landry both know they could very well command a good chunk of change on the open market. Landry's the type of player that makes 9-10 million a year based off the kind of production he brings. JT will probably want similar and there may be a team willing to dump a load of cash on him to get him. Also, extending them both before the CBA goes down could be a huge blunder and cost the Kings down the line. If the Kings want value without killing future flexibility they have to move one or the other at the deadline. Of course how well this team plays will ultimately decide. If JT or Landry is super awesome off the bench and/or in limited minutes and by losing them it would completely crush our chances from game to game then I guess you do as you suggested.

Well, Petrie pretty much said they are going to try and fill the PG and SG spots. Now I don't know if he meant for depth purposes or if it was an indication that he doesn't feel Beno is the right guy next to Tyreke as a starter. I'll be honest, I'd take Beno over any of the attainable FA PG's and probably SG's out there this summer unless the premise was to improve on the defensive side of the ball. Offensively Beno is superior to all them in an overall ability kind of sense.

No joke we should at least make a play for him. Something like cap space, Landy or Thompson, Casspi or Greene, and draft picks for Melo. We'd be contenders, definitely top 4 in the West. All the top teams are looking for their "Big 3". It started with Celtics and Pierce/Garnett/Allen. Miami is pushing for Wade/LeBron/Bosh. Our Big 3 would be Tyreke/Melo/Cousins. All of our cap space would be gone but worth it.

Let's say Landry/Greene/unprotected 1st's/$13 million cap space

Then sign 2 veterans to minimum. Bring back J-Will aka White Chocolate and Rodney Carney.

Beno Udrih/Jason Williams
Tyreke Evans/Francisco Garcia/Rodney Carney
Carmelo Anthony/Omri Casspi
Jason Thompson/Jon Brockman
Samuel Dalembert/DeMarcus Cousins/Hassan Whiteside

How about signing Ray Allen for maybe 2/3 yrs and hopefully by that time the Kings can find the right guy to play beside Reke.

I also wouldn't mind them taking a chance on Bayless or Fernandez from the Blazers
