Brewer can't shoot though if we are going back to the Al Thornton starting five formula we might as well start Aminu. We need a SF who can defend but he must be able to knock down the 3 ball

Brewer has been hitting around 1.5 3pts after the AS break, against a, iirc, 35% clip. His shot has improved a lot, biggest improvement in the league last year and he's really respectable now. Brewer already has more range than Thorn, and more importantly: a MUCH better shot selection and he'll play much smarter.

If Salmons opts out, which I heard he might, I think we should go for him. They traded for Maggette and if they haven't given up on Redd he could be a good option for us at SF.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Im not to dismayed if the clippers sign joe johnson for the max, exept that the clippers owner does not want to go over the cap. So that would leave us with no money to fill in back up spots. If we had a complete team and some cap room to sign somebody then I'd say go clippers sign Joe Johnson for the max.

I read somewhere that Johnson has settled in LA, doesnt want to talk to anyone, loves the Clippers GM, and only wants to sign with the clippers. But for the max, for a none max player, on a team that does not want to go over the cap, doesnt sound like a good fit. Plus, who would give up 5 plus million dollars a year just to be a clipper? And thats just the first year, if you add up the dollars he would lose by coming to the clippers for 10 million, compared to 16 million in new york, its like 20 million he would lose just after 3 years. Man Johnson would have to be Clipper of the Millenium if he agreed to sign for anything less then the max. I know I wouldnt and I love the clippers.

Then lets say johnson does sign, and we have 7 min salary players and someone gets hurt, oh no there goes the season. What the Clippers need is this, Lebron James, or no one for max, thats it!!!!

Signing Salmons, a 30 year old 6'5" SG to play SF, for 8 to 9 mill a year. Thats a stretch on many levels.

Now I've rambled on about what I wouldnt do, here is what I would do, given these facts: Davis is basically untradeble, and Kaman is a solid All Star Center. Nothing to be had with these two, so here is the team at start. Davis,Gordon,Aminu, Griffin, Kaman. Back ups Bledsoe,Warren,Jordan.

Resign Outlaw for 6.5 million, do this quick and under the radar while everyone else is busy with others. Sign Shannon Brown for 4.5 million, should get done. And Sign Big Sofo(2.5m). Now these may not seem like big contracts, but beleive me its just about all of our available cap room. $13.5 million of 16.8.

Now time to sign min salary players like Steve Novak(yes Novak, if it comes down to our 3rd SF option at least hopefully he'll regain his shooting touch), Luther Head, Ike Diago, and Johan Pedro. These are all players that have either played for or near the min befor. That leaves the Clippers with 100k, and the Owner is now happy.

Team after
PG Davis,Bledsoe,Warren
SG Godon,Brown,Head
SF Outlaw,Aminu,Novak
PF Griffin,Diago,Sofo
C Kaman,Jordan,Pedro

Is this the best team possible, probobly not. But we do have a Cheap owner and a very heavy untradeable contract in Davis. Wish he would play up to his contract. IF he does, and that is an IF, then this team is a playoff team.

PS
If the Clippers could go over the Cap, then I would love the clippers to resign Drew Gooden instead of Ike Diago.

Team then
PG Davis,Bledsoe,Warren
SG Gordon,Brown,Head
SF Outlaw,Aminu,Novak
PF Griffin,Gooden,Sofo
C Kaman,Jordan,Pedro

I like this team a lot. Gooden would be the Big man with punch off the bench wich would help both Griffin and Kaman.
