Post#1 » by pcbothwel » Wed Jun 30, 2010 6:38 pm

These are only the FA who figure to start, leaving out extras, (ie. shaq, T-Mac, etc.) :
Lebron: Bulls
Boozer: Bulls
Wade: Miami
Bosh: Miami
Amare: Knicks
Johnson: Knicks
Nowitzki: Mavs
Rudy Gay: New Jersey
Ray Allen: New Jersey
Paul Pierce: Celtics
Haywood: Miami
David Lee: Kings
Ridnour: Knicks
Brad Miller: New Jersey
Jermaine O'Neal: Knicks
Mike Miller: Miami
Haslem: New Jersey
Salmons: Clippers

Who the hell knows? I have no idea. We'll just have to wait and see.

By the way, I think Miami would be pretty damn interesting if they signed Miller and Haywood to go along with Wade and Bosh. That's a well-balanced lineup.

ummm, this is a online fan forum where we discuss possibilities and expectations more than reality. If people are gonna bash trades (hinrich, yi, etc.) before they even come to fruition I dont believe its too much to have a prediction thread the night before the biggest FA class ever.
Anyway, I think Miami will be smart enough to secure two stars ( Wade and Bosh/Amare) and then low ball the next tier of players to smaller contracts for the opportunity to compete, be in South Beach, and have no state tax.

I just don't see LeBron going to Miami with Wade & Bosh. Can't imagine his ego would allow it, plus even if he wins one or more titles, it'll be said that he couldn't win one on his own (ahem - Kobe) without his "Dream Team" posse.

So my guess is:

Wade: Miami
Bosh: Miami
Boozer: Bulls
Amare: Suns
Johnson: Knicks
Nowitzki: Mavs
Rudy Gay: New Jersey
Ray Allen: Celtics
Paul Pierce: Celtics
Shaq: Mavs
Haywood: Miami
David Lee: Knicks
Brad Miller: Bulls
Jermaine O'Neal: Miami
Mike Miller: Miami

And that leaves.....the biggest shock of all:

Lebron: Cavaliers

Sorry. Didn't mean to come across that harsh. I'm just not a huge fan of prediction threads because they're totally meaningless. I don't see why Person A's wild guess is any better or any more interesting to read than Person B's wild guess. I think it's different than debating the merits of a trade or potential free agent acquisition.

If I were Miami, I'd sign Boozer over Bosh. I don't think Bosh is a "winning" player. He never did anything in Toronto. At least Boozer made the western conf. finals. Boozer would probably be much cheaper too. Use those savings to get Haywood, Mike Miller, and Reddick to very reasonable deals. Resign Haslem.

Potentially, a team of:

PG: Chalmers/Quinn
SG: Wade/Reddick
SF: Beasley/Miller
PF: Boozer/Haslem
C: Haywood/Anthony

You know what's funny? Considering Age, potential salary, potential to actually move to another team, and position etc., I'd only rank the following players above Shaun Livingston:

Lebron
Bosh
Gay
Lee
Amare

Miami would be wise to get Shaun Livingston, who is the most under-the-radar FA out there.

I think that had more to do with Deron than Boozer... Bosh had Calderon, nuff said...

Boozer was a monster against GSW (not that hard considering Nellie-ball was there). Still, he played well in the playoffs. If Bosh is this so called great player, what has he ever shown to be so?

Imagine Miami getting Livingston, Mike Miller, Amare, and Haywood to go w/ Wade (if they all could be had for Miami's money, which is probably possible). Might still need some outside shooting, but they could do some damage, and remind of the 2004 Pistons with its former DC players.

David Falk was quoted in the Post this morning saying he thinks both Bosh and LeWhine end up in Miami.

While on one hand, I like the fact that the teams we BOYDed with end up w/o LeCrab... I shudder at the thought of those three with the Heat.

You could kiss the thought of winning our division goodbye for many, many years to come.

Secretly I know that LeBron, Wade Bosh and Joe Johnson are signing with the Wizards for the minimum, but I did not want to have to reveal my sources :D

I would die laughing if this happens. I actually have a feeling that LeBron stays in Cleveland and they trade West's non-guarntee + filler for another "contending" piece.
The one thing all the 2010 FA chasers didnt count on... The most attractive FA's (except Bosh) actually like their current organizations.

Maybe Bosh to Miami, but I could see the rest playing out just like that.
