'Melo Trades (new topics will be locked)

Post#1 » by GooseDiddy » Wed Jun 30, 2010 5:01 pm

I know this is pretty early to start this nonsense, but it's fun... Detroit fan here

How does this look for you ASSUMING you have to trade Melo?

DET trades Rip Hamilton, Austin Daye, Jonas Jerebko; gets Joel Przybilla & Andre Miller

POR trades Przybilla, Miller, Rudy Fernandez, Nick Batum; gets Carmello

DEN trades Carmello and gets Rip, Daye, Jerebko, Fernandez, and Batum

DEN becomes:
Billiups/Lawson
Hamilton/Afflalo/Fernandez/Karl
JR/Batum/Balkman/Daye
K-Mart/Jerebko
Nene/Birdman/Butch

that gives you 15 players, waive Karl maybe?

(edited for spelling. how do you spell Carmelo wrong anyways?)

no **** way are we trading melo, ease up with kiszla and his idiotic "rumors."

until there's a statement from him(melo) or something definitive, all i can say is **** you and keep dreaming.

have this in mind. kiszla's job is to write for the denver post and as a nuggets fan, i can tell you there is nothing seemingly interesting circulating about melo being traded or anything related to trades. he knows this, we know this, all he's doing is blowing smoke, creating rumors and nothing else.

people are probably comparing melo to lebrons situation and it's not. nuggets are a good team. we made it to the finals couple years ago, we still have a great coach in karl, and we still have options with some contracts expiring and valuable players on the trading block.

and really that trade is garbage, role players for a superstar? nothankyou.

So hypothetically, for sake of conversation, if you had to trade Carmello, you'd not trade him.... ?

Denver would not do that deal. They are not going to add someone like RIP with his contract, and a bunch of 2nd/3rd tier prospects.

How about Caron Butler and Eric Dampier for Carmello and Anderson. Damp's contract is non-guaranteed so he can be immediately waived to save big money or maybe involved in a 3-way to bring more talent. Maybe Dampier to Chi for L. Deng (frees tons more cap room for the Bulls) and then Deng and Butler for Carmello/Anderson?

I think it should a requirement that if you're going to propose a trade to bring Melo to your team, you should, at the minimum, be able to spell his damn name right.

That's really bad.. leaving Denver without a starting center is an easy way to get a no on a Melo trade.

As a neutral observer, what about a Nets deal of:

Harris+Terrence Williams+Favors+Humphries (expiring)+Ross (expiring)+Future GSW 1st round pick+2011 Nets First rounder?

If it comes down to it...

Completely rebuild:
Melo
for
Favors, Devin, Lopez

Stay and compete:
Melo, KMart
for
Bynum, Artest, Vujacic, Odom

Sixers fan here:

What do you think of this?

Igoudala, Lou Williams, and Speights + future first (top 3 protected)

For Melo

Igoudala is a do it all guy. Lou Williams can score, and Speights is a very young and talented big.

Before you say no, look at what toronto is getting back for bosh and it's really not that far off from the value out there.

There is no way either team does this. Lakers wouldn't have a center, and your basically asking for the whole nets squad.

It is a completely different situation than Bosh's.

Don't see Denver wanting Iggy if they move Melo. Would need a third team to find some better youth. But the big thing, if Philly wants Melo they pretty much would have to include Turner, which I know they wouldn't.

First, if you want to talk Carmelo trades and rumors you ought to at least get his name right
More importantly the reporter was merely stating the obvious. The Nuggets don't want to lose Carmelo and get nothing. This isn't the Bernie Bickerstaff era where we let hall of famers (mutombo) walk.

That being said with the new collective bargaining agreement on the horizon and the Nuggets not wanting to risk losing Melo in free agency it makes sense for both parties to agree to the MAX this summer.

Plus Melo didn't take the James/Wade free agency path. Melo should be in Denver a long time... if not the duration of his career.
I like my prospects the same way I like my women... foreign- pickIBL
