We've talked about Corey Williams. Of course he's the main story.
but a couple of MINOR subjects -
Ryan Grant is exclusive for 2 more years but theres talk of bumping his salary as reward. How much do you guys think? Full value or just significant increase but still under mkt?
Atari Bigby is exclusive like Grant. Do we reward him? Or exploit him and leave him where he's at and risk unhappy player?
Ruvell Martin is also exclusive. What do we do with him?
Colin Cole is restricted. How much do we want him back IF we keep corey? IF not? Do we want to carry 11 DLs and only keep 5 LBs again?
Vernand Morency is restricted. Do we want him back?
There are others but IMO not any issues with them.
I was surprised to see Koro's name not on FA list. Guess he's signed for next season?
My opinions -
Grant - give him hefty raise but tell him he needs another season to get big pay day.
Bigby - give him as small a raise as seems OK and reward him next season IF he develops.
Martin - I like Ruvell but we're jammed at WR. I like Koro better. So give Ruvell small fair deal.
Keep Cole if we loose Cory. Otherwise still sign him for preseason in case of injuries and if everyone stays healthy trade one DL.
Morency - let him go.

If Morency comes cheap I'd keep him around. He's a fine special teams player. Nothing that couldn't be replaced, but like I said, if he comes cheap then why not?
I like Ruvell a LOT more than I like Koren. Robinson just offered very little all season, both as a pass catcher and as a return man. I know he's Favre's buddy but that shouldn't get you brought back. I like Ruvell's size and hands. I know he had a costly drop against NY if my memory serves me, but he had plenty of nice grabs throughout the season and he makes a nice red zone target.
I'm very much in favor of extending guys like Bigby and Grant BUT not until next pre-season rolls around. I'd like to see them prove themselves with an offseason of work and come into '08 hungry.
Franchise Corey Williams. If he's sought after in the open market, trade him for the best available offer.

Good topic and well done. What's your opinion on C. Williams?
Here's what I think they will do:
They will offer Williams a decent deal, but wont break the bank. I think it is about a 50/50 chance he's back. I think the vision they have for their DTs is to have two that can really take up space and stop the run. Williams is more of a penetrating DT.
I think they will do what you said on Grant.
I don't think they do anything with Bigby. He played well on off tracks in bad weather because it didn't expose his lack of coverage skills as much. The problem is he is almost as bad a coverage S as Williams is in Dallas.
Martin is expendable -no action.
Cole-Like you said his value increases if Williams isn't signed. Either way though I don't think they do much. I'm not sure if he is any more than a rotation guy the rest of his NFL career. They'll offer him backup money.
Morency- he just hasn't clicked here and he has a bit of a track record for not being the easiest guy to deal with.

Corey has already been discussed. Essentially I agree they SHOULD do as DB suggested and tag him for one year.
