Drew Gooden(notes) has reached agreement on a five-year, $32 million contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Gooden has played for eight teams in eight seasons, and hopes to find some stability with the fast-rising Bucks.

Bucks general manager John Hammond and agent Dan Fegan struck quick on Thursday and cut a deal to help solidify Milwaukee’s frontline. Gooden will join a core of Andrew Bogut(notes) and Brandon Jennings(notes) that’s added Corey Maggette(notes) and Chris Douglas-Roberts(notes) in the offseason. The Bucks are still negotiating with free agent John Salmons(notes) to return.

Classic Milwaukee move. Keep on piling up those veteran role players by paying them more than they deserve. The result? A shot at the playoffs every year, but more often than not a back end lottery selection and no cap room or potential to grow.

Milkwaukee fans need to storm the Bucks front office and have this deal canceled, no? It will destroy all the progress they've made this year if they hand out another bad contract like this..

In the 2010 Free Agency, teams fought vicariously over superstars like LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. But one team looked in a different direction. They looked to Drew Gooden for all their answers, and signed him as soon as they could - knowing he was a hot commodity in a pool of superstars. Viva Milwaukee!

No comments on his 8th team in 8 years? What's the record for most teams played for?
And wtf pretty much describes this. Worrying in that if Gooden gets this much, how much will Scola grab?

Wait until the Bucks get to know Gooden. Believe me, their fans are going to hate him. They just traded Gadzuric and his terrible contract. Why sign Gooden for that long?

There's no way he and Scott Skiles can coexist. Gooden's lucky Hubie Brown, Mike Brown and Gregg Popovich didn't kill him yet. He's a goofball without any D and no brains.

Not only this but with the potential restructuring of the CBA looming, you have to think twice before handing out any 5 year contract at all, let alone one to a career journeyman for what could end up being twice the MLE after a couple years under the new cap.

So far, this is the dumbest move of free agency. One could argue that giving Joe Johnson the max is, but I can understand where the Hawks are coming from with that. This comes completely out of left field and doesn't make any sense. Milwaukee is a very bad fit for him.
