Utah interested in Morrow

Post#1 » by J_Ray » Thu Jul 1, 2010 4:02 pm

@WojYahooNBA G-State restricted free agent Anthony Morrow has slew of interest, including Spurs, Celtics, Lakers, Blazers, Clips and Jazz, sources say.

Adding Morrow would be amazing, he'd replace Kyle Korver quite well if you ask me. I wonder if they'd use their TPE on him?

I've really liked Morrow these last couple of years. I would quickly forget about Kyle Korver if they signed him.

I like Morrow alot and want him on the team BUT GSW love him and will match ANY offer within reason. The Jazz will not give him a ridiculous contract front loaded with alot of money like Portland gave Millsap. He only goes to Utah in part of a bigger trade such as Biedrens and Morrow plus for Boozer. Morrow is headed back to GSW. Morrow has about the same chance of leaving GSW as Matthews has in leaving Utah which is highly unlikely.

Nice to hear Jazz brass interested in such a good player. That said, it only can happen as part of a series of moves by GS involving a need for them to clear money space (Utah then could use their TPE), or as part of a S&T with the Jazz. Somehow the Biedrins situation can play a role here, but I expect a lot of teams to be interested in him too (sadly enough his contract is too big for the Jazz to try to get him usin only Harpring's trade TPE...)

Just for the sake of the choice itself: What would you prefer? A sign and trade with Orlando for Gortat/Bass or with Golden State for Biedrins/Morrow?

Right now Golden State is a mess, and I could see Utah using their whole TPE on Anthony Morrow in a S&T for that Memphis pick. With the TPE, their are quite a few options open for Utah.

Good question, I like Gortat more than Biedrins at least from a defensive perspective. On the other hand, I like Morrow quite a bit more than Bass, although I'm not sure that the Jazz need another wing. If we end up dealing with Orlando, I'd prefer Gortat and Reddick more than either of the other two options.

First of all I doubt Boozer would accept a trade to Golden State, so that is a non starter. Nobody in their right mind would until ownership changes and DSon Nelson is gone.

IMO Morrow isn't worth more than the LLE since he only plays on the offensive end and here he would be a change of pace not a starter.

It's good to see they are interested in him but I agree that there is no way he is leaving GS. I don't really understand why he would be that much better than Korver though...

I still prefer Gortat, Pietress and Bass or Anderson over Morrow and Biedrens!

Theres a handful of other teams that he'd probably sign with before us, besides he's restricted and GS isn't letting him go.

To me this doesnt do a whole lot....he had average offensive numbers where he could just do whatever he wanted and chuck at will. Not so sure how that would translate to such a rigid system like ours. Either way its interesting to see people on here gush about a guy as average as this based only on some yahoo sports rumor.

Don't get Morrow confused with some other GSW players. I seem to remember Morrow was in the dog house with Nelson for a while. And Morrow had a grudge against GS for a bit. They made up and both sides hugged but thats business. Both sides could have done that for a better situation down the road.

BTW I like Gortat better than Biedrens, but Morrow better than Riddick. Three way trade maybe. Sadly it looks like Orlando isn't interested in anything the Jazz have. Maybe Orlando would like a GS player with a three way trade.
Go ReAL!

Return to Utah Jazz
