Bringing truckloads of fans to a free agent meeting, sounds awful. I would be so put off if I was Bosh.

Yeah, especially since we have no shot at the big free agents.
I like the fact that we have dedicated fans who wanted to make the road trips, but still.

i felt like he was listening to me
few years back there was a topic about "if you could add any non-star player to your team, who would you add?"
i said shane battier
i was praying we draft rudy gay
turnout that year we got both ... we did drafted rudy gay and got shane battier
i wanted carl landry and he did traded for carl landry
so now i'll speak what's on my mind
please say no to chris bosh
i'll rather take al jefferson

i think he means contract then player skills. even then bosh is a better defender, dont wanna take a chance to see if al can feed off of yao defensively

i don't want bosh and jefferson, but if i have to choose between those two
i would rather take jefferson, cause he wouldn't demand max contract and you can get about same value in return

So you would rather have Jefferson (a player with a history of injuries much worse than Martin's) over Bosh because you say that he will give you the same value (not exactly) at a lower price. Martin and Johnson are much closer to being equal value than Bosh and Jefferson and the money is even farther apart when you factor in what Joe is asking for.

I agree that Bosh is overrated, but he's the better fit next to Yao. These days it's all about being able to stretch the floor, and allowing teammates to drive into the lane. You can't have 2 low post players and crowd the paint.

how is jefferson injured history worse than martin? martin missed more games in the last 2 years than jefferson missed in the last 3 years
if you team going to have yao+brooks+martin+scola+bosh/jefferson
don't tell me you expect bosh to avg 30/10 (which he can't even do in toronto) while jefferson to get 8/8?
both will probably get around 16/8

of course bosh is a better player
i'm just saying if i have to pick between the two
if i'm paying the guy the max dollar
i don't want to hear him to whine about wanted to be the man and don't want to do this and that
even garnett play center sometime
i'm just tired of him and his buddies causing too much distraction

They will give Toronto picks, young talent and expirings, but I highly doubt we will be giving up any starters.

It's been reported (dunno with how much veracity) that Toronto was asking Miami for a 14.8 mill TPE and a pick/picks. They don't want players in return. Just flexibility. (I'm only repeating what I've read. Yes, it looks weird.) But I'm betting Toronto has been talking with potential trading partners for a while. Houston included. It's been hinted at. And there's nothing keeping front offices from playing ongoing games of 'what if'.

If this were any other business in the world, you'd expect "deals" to be decided on in advance.

If there were cries of defensive liabilities before, imagine life with Jose Calderon.
