It was discussed a while back. Yes, it's possible, but it would completely undermine Chicago's credibility for a generation. Nobody would trust them again.

I think they were iffy on Hinrich anyway, so being out of his contract has some value. If the pick had been a more NBA ready guy like James Anderson, they might be tempted to do so. However the fall-out would be far worse than the gain of keeping Seraphin. If the Bulls strike out, the front office's bad rep is a factor. Backing out of this deal will make it worse.

How could you be surprise with his 6points per game?... He played with real players, not college players... Is it really the only way to know if a player is good or not?! It doesn't matter if is a big or a small center... Would you rather have Kwame Brown or Ben Wallace (in his prime)?!

Just be patient. Juge on his game, on his contribution.

Oddest thing, or anyway rare nowadays in the US: K.Sera has far more well-developed footwork than he has a jumper. Excellent as far as I'm concerned, since we need him in the low-post more than we need him tryign to juke and dazzle off the dribble. That jumper is really awkward, but I love his proficiency with a lefty and righty jump hook (even limited and groundbound as he is by a knee injury).

Anyway take a look. Real nice to see a Big with a power-post game and strong foundation of footwork. That rumpcheck is gonna clear hisself a ton of space to work, and he really commits to it, 'sits' his man off position with a strong low base before the spin to finish.

Final dunk is a ferociously pretty thing, way to finish strong.

Now consider that this is the out-of-shape version of KSeraSera. Has never hit an NBA training room, has been rehabbing an ankle, hasn't been able to play ball in a couple months, and has only been playing Basketball five years (like N'Diaye), in limited minutes playing behind two quality experienced veteran PFs. And this is only a 20 year old kid. One year older than John Wall. This is the 'raw' version? That's a ton of natural talent right there.

Envision the finished product after he develops into grown man strength (!) has a cardio program for the stamina to run with our young greyhounds and starts solidifying that babyfat into chiseled muscle....

Just from a quick watch:

His form on his jumper is actually pretty nice, he just doesn't use his left to guide the ball on his spot up jump shots. His turn-around jumpers were great, and he utilizes his left. Definitely something he'll need to work on.

The jump hook, which is still far too underutilized for how effective it can be, is interesting. It almost looks more like a floater than a true hook. He releases the ball interestingly, and almost has it at a 3/4ths angle when it leaves his hand.

The best part of that video is the fact that he looks really strong, and should easily be able to back down his defender.

He looks a lot further along than I would have expected. You were right about his footwork. His hands looked a little bit like fish flopping around on the boat, especially on the short jumpers. But given his size, obvious lower body strength, and Fred Astaire feet, he might have some success, even this year.

Everything I've read about him says that his defense is further along than his offense. I'm intrigued though, we may have a potential starter here. Potentially.

I've heard some stuff on the radio about him and the buyout number being between 500-1m Euros, then sometimes it's only 500k dollars. But apparently the buyout discussions are ONGOING and Seraphin may in fact stay over here as his current squad is playing hardball with Washington on the buyout.

Apparently the buyout is MORE, but Seraphin and the Wizards do want him in uniform this year. His French squad wants to retain him this year. This is the only link I can find, but from the local news and newspapers I put the odds at 60/40 that Seraphin suits up for the Wiz this year. Cholet really wants to keep him this year, or get a buyout far exceeding the 500k US$ initially floated about.

I'll dig around some more on the local directories to find some more Seraphin news.

Presti nearly chose 3 centers in the 2010 draft. He moved up, taking on salary to get Aldrich, moved up to 18 and took on salary in attempt to move up ahead of San Antonio to get Kevin Seraphin. Traded the pick (Bledsoe) when Washington took Serphin one pick before 18.

Ok, with Summer League over and Wall proving to be for real, the story line will have a void and people will start probing for news. That could turn to Gil real quickly so if they aren't ready for that to happen, then we need news about to two next biggest questions. How is it going on with Dray ? Are Dray and Wall talking ? And are we going to get Seraphin signed.

For me, I think this would be a good time for the front offense to turn their focus to Seraphin. Hopefully we hear he gets signed with in the next week. The sooner we figure this out, the soon we can work our options for other post players.

We really need some muscle in the post. While people have low expectations for the team this year, I'm always looking for my team to win as many games as possible and post muscle is key to us doing that. This kid looks like a man. A tough dude who will eat up space. We desperately need that on this team.

Alright Ted. You on the stage again. Get with EG and get this deal done. Show us what a great owner you are.

Wow, it tough to go from so much excitement - Summer League Ball - to Crickets.

God I hope we hear something soon about Seraphin signing or at least more about the fact that we are working on the deal.
