Did anyone talk about how around midnight tonight a mysterious team rep from an unknown team drove to LBJs house in a black limo and dropped off a box. No one knows what's inside?

http://nba.fanhouse.com/2010/07/01/team ... ons-house/

So I read another article about this on RealCavsFans, and in the other article, it states that a man in a weird Russian sounding accent, but NOT the new Nets owner whatever his name was, was heard talking to the security person.

So I have 2 theories based on this information:

1) This is the result of GarPax's rumored midnight trip to Akron that McGraw reported this morning
or more likely...
2) one of the nets owners cronies was dropping off a box full of money or some other desirable thing as a present for LBJ. I doubt that's against the rules...or if it is, the russian says f--- the rules.

-Bosh (2010 trade deadline and FA)
-LeBron (2010)
-Wade (2010)
-Melo (2014)

But the Bulls have a wild card they haven't mentioned, and people don't even want to whisper. And its Joakim Noah.

Listen, I love Joakim Noah. He has really pressed Rose for my favorite current Bull. But all the Bulls have to do is call BC, and say "Noah, Taj, Bobcats pick for Bosh." BC orgasms, then agrees. So why do it?

-It gives us room for 2 maxes. Noah and Taj's salary is enough. Offer the max to Lebron.
-Note: I ONLY do this is Lebron is on board. Lee (or some pf) + Noah >>>>> Bosh + Asik. But if this is what it takes to get Lebron I do it in a heartbeat.

-Bulls could say in Bron meeting "We need to make one call and you are on a team with Rose and Bosh." Who do you want as your frontcourt player?"

-There might be some dirty side incentive for Bron to do this because of his spat with Noah. Bron might find it funny to send Noah to Toronto.

Again, I heart Noah and this might not be too popular. But the Bulls could really pull off a heist if they decide to.

FWIW, we have heard that Toronto has agreed to S&T deals with the Bulls, Heat, and Rockets...

A separate report from Sam Smith said the Bulls may have a trade in place that sends Taj, 15M TPE, and 3 1st rounders plus cash for Bosh, if Bosh agrees to come.

Posted this before, but since the topic seems to have swung to endorsement dollars and "The Next MJ" I will post it again.

LeBron in a Bulls uniform makes him more money than any other uniform on the planet. He and MJ will do promotions for products together, and that combo, both repping the bulls, will make more money than any other athlete combo in the world. "Air King" or "King Air" etc, etc, etc. Commercials with pics of LeBron in HS wearing 23, Jordan smirking, then LeBron in #6 dunking in a Bulls uniform and flash back to MJ with an appreciative/suprised look on his face. Whatever, I'm not a marketing guy, but you get the idea.

That is worth hundreds of millions.

I believe Magilla posted it...

Between this and the Bosh thread, I don't recall which one it was, but I believe he posted that it was said by one of the ESPN guys.

The Bulls are trying to keep their actions under wraps. There was evidence the management team of Gar Forman, John Paxson and new coach Tom Thibodeau traveled somewhere Wednesday, and their most likely destination was Akron, Ohio, to demonstrate how serious they are about adding the two-time MVP.

i posted a summary of sam smith's interview on espn 1000. he said the bulls could offer a package [above], but in no way was he suggesting that a trade was in place.

Thanks for clarification on the Smith report... I do believe the bolded is an accurate characterization of the Bulls/Heat/Rockets report, though.

You know, that's a really good point re: the opportunity for Lebron and Jordan to market together. That's huge and I'm sure the thought sends Nike and Gatorade execs into a tizzy!

There is also a psychological element to it -- LeBron will never get to know how he would stack up against MJ on the court, really.

However, in the world of endorsements, they can get paid equal money to be portrayed as equals and peers. No one else alive could do that in the world of basketball, not Kobe etc etc, but IMHO LeBron could. Hard to do it in a Nets or Knicks or whatever uniform.

True, but Nike could still put it together. Also, I think LeBron is sponsored by Powerade isn't he, not Gatorade (Wade is sponsored by Gatorade thought right)... that right?

I don't think he should advertise with folks from the dynasty teams until we win a ring, that's just my preference though.
