That'd be awesome if true. Great to see we're still willing to spend, because we will need it to repeat next year in my opinion. We can only get by for so long with terrible shooting and a terrible bench.

I don't think it'll be 5/30 though that's too long...unless there's an option/early termination

I really dont think the Lakers will give Miller 5yrs that seems kind of crazy considering they can keep Shannon for cheaper. And that tweet totally goes against every report we've heard about the Lakers and they plan using their MLE.

Agreed. Good sign, but only if he cuts his hair.

Mike Miller has met with the Lakers, Heat and Knicks in Los Angeles and reportedly has a five-year, $30 million offer from the Lakers.
Wow. Several teams were tracking Miller because there is a belief that LeBron James wants to play with him, but it's hard to imagine him passing up such a nice offer from the world champs. From a fantasy perspective, it's hard to see him starting, or having a major role, on a roster that already features Lamar Odom off the bench.

Miller has an array of skills, unfortunately the last few years he has become incredibly shy about shooting, which is his greatest skill. If he gets back to actually taking the open shots he often turns down, he's a very talented guy to have. I think he would get more minutes on another contending team than the Lakers.

Benjammin
^ Perhaps it's the slew of crappy 50-60 loss teams he had to play on the past few years. Open looks on a Chip team could change that approach in a hurry.

And for minutes, he'd get his 25-30. Luke and Sasha would basically get none.

Re Lakers offering what is MLE money to Mike Miller:
This would mean no PG (except Fisher re-up and Critt as the b/u) in FA. Probably means more Kobe at PG and Odom at Point F. I'd take that.

Fish/Critt
Kobe/Miller/Sasha
Ron/Luke/Ebanks
Pau/Odom/Caracter
Bynum/(Pau)/Vet

payroll = 93.9
[That might be too much for Buss]

Sounds perfect if true. This guy is a sick outside shooter. He has hit 27/30 3 pts shoots i've seen on youtube. He typically don't even hit rim when he makes his threes. He can also put it on the floor really well and take it to the rim. He would be perfect. All those open threes in the corner he'd make 1 of 2.

I also look at it like this. Phil took less money I'm sure of it and as well Sasha the player formally in this role is a UFA at end of year so they are getting his replacement a year early. I wouldn't be surprised to see him bought out. So in the Buss scheme of things the money is about the same.

Fish will re ink for 1 yrs 4 million I think then they need a back up point or keep Sasha for that role. A back up big at Centre for Drew someone uber cheap 1 million and then a 1 million 3rd string pg like J crittenton and they are done. I could also see Shannon coming back for Fish's backup.

Great to hear, I had given up hope on getting Miller. Hope it's true.
Thank you, Phil.

You do realize they show highlights on youtube right? Typically the player's best moments...

Can you imagine a line up of Kobe, Miller, Bynum, Gasol and Artest. Very possible considering Kobe guarded Rondo and Westbrook in playoffs anyway. Odom and Fish off the bench. I think Miller's IQ and knowledge of game is a reason for a signing like this. Artest don't get it but makes up for it w/ effort.

You add a TMAC and he would struggle w/ a system like this, he is like AI just get them the ball and if they don't have it they lack effort and passion.

Kobe, Fish, critt
Miller, Sasha
Bynum,
Gasol, odom, caracter
Ron, Luke, Ebanks

And back up big at 1 million be a team of 95 million which is around 4 million more than last year but Phils' salary in big picture is probably cut in half like 6 mill a year. I could see them making a move for Blake, ridnour or Watson depending how much they are willing to play for. Blake being most interesting. Jackson might have said that his pay cut would have to be put back into the roster...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Miller + Kobe on Team USA = positive...5 yrs at 30 seems long but 6 mil a year for miller isn't bad, at least not years 1-3...but like some others have said, i'll believe it when i see it but that would be a solid addition since shannon cant shoot and seems to always try and never attacks the bucket, which is his only strength
