Not to be negative Nancy...

Post#1 » by Starkiller » Thu Jul 1, 2010 3:38 pm

...but does anyone feel like even if we pull off some great things and put a great team on the floor, we'll still be battling for 2nd or maybe even 3rd place? I mean, if a team like Chicago or Miami reels in two Max guys Wade/James/Bosh/Johnson/Boozer/Amare, They are probably instantly better than we could be, and Orlando is still top notch.

I'm excited about getting a good team on the court, but just feel like there is a dark cloud looming w/ those teams.

Now the priority is be good enough to compete again, at least the 4 or 5 in the East. For me is that or be the worst. I'm tired of end a couple of games behind the 8th place, right now is black or white.

Orlando is a streaky team in the playoffs they can rollover anybody or can shoot terrible from 3 and go down 3-0 in a series and put themselves in a hole they can't get out of. I don't think they will win a championship with that team. If the move a few pieces out and bring some more in to help out Dwight i will change my mind right away, but they rely to heavily on the 3. That is why the pacers are bad. You need two inside presences or 1 dominant big and two players who can go for 30 at any moment. Sorta like LA and Boston.

Then every team besides the top 4 should start a new league. dear God Pacer fans suck it up and grow some pride. if everyone is so tired of our roster, president, gm, coach, scouts, and how things are done here then find a new team.

Remember that HOF coach Phil Jackson led, stacked team of Superstars Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'neal, Gary Payton, and Karl Malone who were flanked by great veteran role players Horace Grant, Derek Fisher, Bryon Russell and Rick Fox and the banner they DIDN'T raise?

I'd say we should worry about getting into the playoffs, and from there who knows what might happen!!

That's what I was talking about. Obviously we aren't winning a title this year, or maybe even next year. But the problem I'm talking about is wherever these Max guys go, that seems like it's a Dynasty in the making, especially if it's Chicago w/ young guys Rose and Noah.

What have we had to be proud about since the brawl? Nothing. Lots of teams have taken WAY less time to rebuild and win titles than we have.

Come on. Gary Payton and Karl Malone were FAR from superstars back then.

It's still a team game, 5 on the court and it is a long season. Good players do NOT equate to good chemistry. Can the Egos co-exist that long? How long would Lebron really settle for 15 pts a night to let Wade or others get theirs?

Like I said you dont like move on. I wish we had more clippers fans they are loyal and optimistic and have no reason only 4 playoffs since 1970 when they became a team. What team has had the issues we have had, and rebuilt faster...name one. Aside from all the mess and trade demands we lost the best player this teams has ever had in Reggie.

George McGinnis, and if Danny wins a title with the Pacers, then it has to be Danny.

McGinnis was the best in a Pacer's ABA uniform that's all.
I can't compare the 7 years he was a Pacer with the 18 that Reggie gave us and all he brought and means to this franchise. I respect your opinion but don't agree.

Thats cool and all but if the pacers were in the NBA they probly win a title or two in the 70's and people look at it in a different light.

If Shaq hadn't been a f**** beast in the 2000's finals we could have a ring.
IF... that's the problem.

Rajah was better than Big Mac. both probably had more talent than Uncle Reg but Reggie worked harder to improve his game. times were different then. players smoked in the locker room at half time. weight lifting was unheard of and no one trained in the off season.

but George changed the game. he was the first modern power forward. he was the first player with the size to play inside and an outside shot too.
