Danny Granger

Post#1 » by Crossova21 » Thu Jul 1, 2010 8:26 pm

Just read from Chad Ford that if the Nets can't get Lebron we should expect them to come after Granger. If Paul George shows promise in summer league would you guys mind re-visiting the Granger for Harris and Favors swap? I don't want to lose Granger because he's a scorer but our line-up would be pretty set for the future.

Harris/Ford
Rush/Jones
George/Dunleavy
Favors/ Murphy/Hansbrough
Hibbert/Foster

I know the contracts dont match up because I didn't run it through tradechecker. I'm at work so I couldn't post quote and link. If the Nets don't get Bron it makes sense that they'll look for elsewhere but this trade would leave them without a point guard.

no way i would do this.

harris=good
rush=good if he ever develops
george=don't know if he will be good or not
favors=will take at least 2 years to develop
hibbert=good

we r looking at a very young team with little experience. we would not be in the playoffs for at least another two years.

I would rather our lineup be this
lowry or farmer or ridinour/ Stephenson
rush/ George
granger/ george
murphy/ hanbrough
hibbert/foster

Never trade the franchise player unless you get a franchise player back OR you have another on the team to take that place. That is the simplest rule to live by in professional sports.

I'd do Granger and Hibbert for Harris, Lopez, and Favors but don't think I'd do it for anything less.

Wow, I came to see how you guys valued Granger. Considering you guys just drafted George, I'd be ecstatic to get a legit 4 in Favors and blow up the squad to get better.

Getting Devin Harris would be phenomenal too.

I don't think you can expect much more for granger than this.. however, you have him locked up for 3 years, so if your org wants to keep him and not do a massive rebuild, they can go that route. However, as an outsider.. i'd blow it up. He's your biggest trading chip, and the status quo isn't getting you anywhere.

If you did the trade, you guys would be pretty bad next season... definitely in play for a top 3 pick in the next draft.

Come 2011 you'd then have Favors/George and a 2011 top 5 at the worst pick.. plus a crapload of $ coming off the books if memory serves me correct. Seems like the best way to go to me..

I used to say no way, but now i would say yes. I know we really don't know what George will bring us, but Harris and Favors for Danny, I couldn't pass that up..then we got tj, jr, and murph comin off the books in 2011 to sign the final piece of the puzzle. I love Danny but i truley believe it would make us a better team now and down the road.

Who are we convincing to come to Indiana again? Can you even think of the biggest name free agent to sign with the Pacers?

The only way I'd ever consider this is if they also give us Lopez, Granger is one of the best small forwards in the game today and is a fan favorite in my hometown of Indiana.

Harris.
Rush?
Granger/Dunleavy
Lopez/Foster/Hibbert.

Why would we do this trade while Danny is an All-star and both Favors and George haven't prove themselves in the league? Are the Pacers trying to get more lottery picks next few years?

Paul George was not brought in to compete with Danny in anyway, IMO. Larry drafted him because he thinks George could play the 2 and would be a good partner to Granger. Unless George turns into a T-Mac 2.0, i don't think Larry would do a deal involving Danny.

Trading Granger for Harris and Favors is a risky move, I'd want them to take TJ Ford too and give us a 2011 #1 pick or at least a swap of picks in the next 3 yrs.
