It might seem a longshot to some but my gut says he will not leave his hometown team and return to Cleveland.

I would hate for you guys to go through what I did back in 1996 when Shaq bolted Orlando.

Yeah, I can only imagine how bad that was...and u guys had 2 young stars...and a finals appearance, and Shaq bolted.

I agree with you though... even though it is hard sometimes, when hashing through all the "articles" ESPN puts out about what team (any but the Cavs) is currently the favorite to land LeBron.

LeBron says he wants to decide by Monday.

At least that is good news. If he signs quickly that should give us time to make some more moves. Also I dont think I could handle this crap longer than this.

If LeBron decides to resign - where does he make this announcment? I think he takes advantage of the publicity. Does he do it at Akron Stadium? The Q? Cleveland Browns stadium? That would be a sweet party.....

My opinion: Phil Jackson's decision along with Doc Rivers' forces LeBron and the rest of the top free agents hands to decide what they really want from the NBA. Do they want to win or do they want money. Is it love or money Bron? Cos believe this the Lakers and the Celtics wont fake the funk next season. Its hard for me to believe that James and Bosh really want to become NBA champs they could sit through another year watching from the outside and eventually seeing Kobe or Pierce raise another trophy.

Becoming a champ is hard in the NBA and you may only get a few cracks at it. Ask Barkley, Malone, Stockton, Ewing, Miller the list goes on... So is it love or money? Thats the real question.

Which team can offer Lebron the most money in the long run, is where he is going to go or stay.

He wants a ring, but at the end of the day its about that green.

According to the Knicks that's them almost 3 to 1. Of course, that's also assuming multiple championships with them.

Yeah, its hard to win a ring. Its supposed to be. One turned ankle or twisted knee at the wrong time can derail everything, ask Magic about that. Or, maybe one bad elbow can change an entire series, how else to explain that Lebron wasnt the best player on the floor in the Celts series? Cmon, Rondo is nice, but he isnt normally better than Lebron. A helathy Lebron might not have been enough anyway, and he did seem to quit so I am not saying Cle would have won it all, but for someone to say based on this year that the Cavs have no chance next year is a stretch.

You guys will get LeBron back...

Post#352 » by chicagofan23 » Fri Jul 2, 2010 2:15 am

At this point I don't think it matters, Chicago, New York, Miami and New Jersey will all strike out but here's the thing...LeBron will sign a 3-4 year deal, if he doesn't win anything in Cleveland in that time, he will pull a K.G and leave...So you guys in Cleveland better hope for a title in the time LeBron is there because if he doesn't...That's it.

I was waiting to see a "when pigs fly" ending to the thread title. I could definitely see your scenerio play out. That has been brought up several times before by several people here, but I understand that at this point there are so many posts and threads addressing the same subject that I wouldnt want to read through them all either.
I hope you are right, but all this drama is just getting very old. As interesting as it is, I cant wait for a resolution to come, no matter what actually happens.

geez, could you imagine going through this for another 3 years. It's not like we've ever really had a break since LeBron reupped from his rookie contract. Ever since then, people have been working on their contracts to try to sign him. I'm not sure I'd want to deal with this crap for another 3 yrs.

I think he resigns because he is loyal...........but its not a great decision for him because the cavs dont have the proper parts to win a ring...

Neither do the Bulls or Knicks. The Nets aren't yet good enough and would be depending greatly on players improving. And Miami would have some holes as well. It's just crap that people keep saying it's just the Cavs that are missing a piece or two.

Without Lebron, Bulls would have beat Cavs in Playoffs. Not saying Lebron won't resign because of his love for NE Ohio, But even he has to know he carried the team.

And the Bulls took that Celtics team to 7 games a year prior. Subtract Salmons, Tyrus and Ben Gordon then add Lebron, Bulls beat Celtics ...

Sorry guys, if he wants to Win he aint going to Cleveland, If he wants to avoid being the most hated man in Ohio history, He stays with Cavs.

The Bulls talent is substantially overrated at this point...

They have a scoring PG... Rose is nice, quick, strong... A true PG he is not-- a PG that works with LeBron he is not... He's in between somewhere...
No shooters (essential with LeBron)
No bench
No low post scorers
No perimeter defense

I just don't get where the Bulls are all that great ? They barely made the playoffs and it took a Raptors collapse to make it happen...

LeBron goes to Miami with Wade and Riley coaching him and it's already a better situation than playing with Derrick Rose, a big man that is all hustle with no skill and a rookie coach...

Derrick Rose is a beast. We saw how good he was against us all season this year, Lebron was the only one that could contain him. His mid-range J is one of the best in the league and he has all of the great PG skills. Him and Lebron would be an incredible 1-2 punch.

But the appeal of Chicago begins and ends with Derrick Rose. The rest of the team is weak. The management and coaching is suspect, and there is the Michael Jordan and legacy factor. If he won three championships in Chicago it wouldn't have as much impact or be viewed as something as great as he did in Cleveland or New York (I throw NYC in there because that city would go nuts to be relevant in basketball again).

I truly hope to god LBJ re signs with the Cavs. The way Bulls and Knicks fans act like he was always theirs really pisses me off. I hope you guys re sign LeBron and bend the Bulls and Knicks team over and pull a train on them.

Return to Cleveland Cavaliers
