What's the worst move Morey has ever made?

Even the best makes blunders at times. What is Morey's biggest mistake?

I'm going to go with signing David Andersen to 2.5 million per year. Only because i can't really think of any huge mistakes....

It has to be the Andersen signing - the jury is still out on the Artest trade, though it got us to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Morey has not done much else wrong.

The McGrady/Yao area was characterized by us having very little in terms of trade assets - we didn't have picks, we didn't have young players that teams wanted, we didn't have contracts (expirings) that teams wanted. Simply put, we never had the pieces on place to give ourselves a chance of winning anything.

Now, with Morey, we have a wealth of assets.

We did give up assets for a one year rental of Ron Artest but he was a productive winning player for us so can't really complain.

Another candidate would be drafting Joey Dorsey. Only because we expect Morey's draft picks to all turn into future all stars. Morey was so sure Dorsey would contribute immediately but he ended up not doing anything for us at all. But since all we spent was a 2nd round pick.... not much of a mistake.

+10

I thought he'd be a consistent contributor, too. And I publicly supported the selection.

I still don't quite understand Dorsey's situation, though. He only got decent minutes in one game last year. And in that game, he grabbed a s**t-ton of rebounds. But we never heard another word from him. And he got waived by ...Sac/NY/??...so what was the real deal?

Was the one game an abberation? Or is Joey a locker room cancer? Or did he bone somebody's wife?

I don't get it.

Other moves, but were hardly harmful:

- signing Franchise/Brent Barry
- trading Batum (on draft night) for Dorsey and Greene

1. Francis was Les's PR idea. Morey was opposed. (Don't know about Barry, but it sure didn't work.)

2. All that stuff got us RonRon/Ariza. So in the long view, no objection here...especially given how useless Donte has proven to be.

Without a doubt Joey Dorsey...whose career highlight was being thrown out of a summer league game...while sitting on the bench...in street clothes :(

Batum was never Morey's draft target. He drafted Batum for Portland.

I was actually watching that live when it happened. It was legitimately funny.

So I'm biased.

Actually Donte ended up playing pretty well down the stretch for Sac. I expect a pretty decent year from him in 10-11.

Call me when he's a legit starter. Text me when you'd trade him straight up for Ariza.

(I concede your point, but the guy has bust written all over him.)

Joey Dorsey was a really big disappointment.

LOL...crap I completely forgot he was in street clothes...edited! The only time he was allowed to play was when we were showcasing him to move him...much like how we gave Donte Green the green light for every shot in summer league when we got him....he was averging like 40 points or something crazy. The good news about both of those guys is we were able to flip them.

Dorsey wasn't really Morey's pick
he's just filler in trade

we drafted Batum and traded him to Portland for Arthur
then we traded Arthur to Memphis for Greene and Dorsey

taking Jermaine Taylor instead of Marcus Thornton with Washington's 32nd pick in 2009
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming
