Trade Proposal on Ticket this morning

Post#1 » by catalyst » Mon Jan 28, 2008 3:42 pm

#1 and #32 for #22 and #28 and Barber? Barber and Brown would be awesome, and take pressure off Lemons or whatever caretaker Purcells brings in.

Then Boys can get McFadden and a WR or CB. Would it be worth it? If they make that trade, I wish we could toss others into a deal like that, say Carpenter or Roy.

No way you get our second in that deal.

Seriously, what's the gain for the Dolphins in that? We get a new backup running back who we have to pay a fortune to? Why? We've got a pretty good backup as is. Why not just keep him for far less than we'd have to pay Barber and keep our pick?

Why would we drop 21 spots in one round, with our most valued compensation being a move up of four spots from 32 to 28?

I'd cut Barber out of the deal and keep our second long before doing that. Seriously, that's crappy...

I doubt Jones wants to lock up the salary a #1 overall pick will demand.

Adding Barber to 2 (albeit late) 1st round picks is not worth it.

Now if McFadden dropped to 3rd or 4th pick, I can see Barber & our 28th pick for whatever pick comes he ends up at OR both of our late picks and a 5th or 6th round pick without Barber.

I agree. I see many mocks having dallas trade both firsts and a 2nd or 3rd in 2009. That is too much to pay for one dude. Yes, he is a stud. But I want a real change of pace guy, and Jones, Mendenhall, or Slaton fit that role very well. I doubt Charles does, since I see him needed a couple of steps to get up to speed, and he is a guy who needs carries to get going. Notice when he got his yards, late in games.

I want Jerry to stay put, and draft a CB and best WR or RB. Then get the other in the 2nd. I still have a little thought that Steve Slaton will be the 3rd down back in Dal in 2008.
