Maybe if McGinnins would've played here in his prime. He was truly an amazing athlete that could've played in the NFL if he felt like it. Does anyone remember the Kentucky/Indiana series where he scored 53 pts and grabbed 31 rebounds. Read this article.

McGinnis’ outburst might not have happened except for a few choice words from Kentucky All-Star Joe Voskuhl. After the first game of the series — a 91-83 Indiana win at Hinkle Fieldhouse in which McGinnis had 23 points and 14 rebounds — Voskuhl, a forward from Covington (Ky.) Catholic who went on to play at the University of Tulsa, laid into Indiana’s Mr. Basketball.

“I think he’s overrated, I really do,” Voskuhl said to the Louisville Courier-Journal. “Oh, he’s good, but he’s overrated.”

Best Pacer ever is Primoz Brezec. If we want to argue about this, Mel Daniels should also be in the conversation. The most recognizable player is often recognized as the best. That's why people say Kobe's the best Laker now. I personally think that McGinnis had the most talent (ABA MVP), but nobody brought moments like Reggie Miller.

And some of you guys seriously have to chill. I want the team to win a championship, too. This championship or bust attitude is not the right one to have for a:

-small-market
-lottery
-non-championship (as in no NBA rings, so we don't even have a history of winning)
-inconsistent (nobody has used as many different starting lineups as we have since 2004. Nobody. I'm guessing here, but I'm 100% sure we're in the top three here, and I dare someone to look it up.)
-relocation candidate

...team.

Those teams that rebuild on the fly? One, they didn't have a Brawl to recover from. Two, they got LUCKY.

If a horse goes down in a race and breaks a leg, you don't say "finish line or bust" in its next race. You just hope it can do its best and not garner a trip to the farm upstate (getting shotgunned, or, in our case, relocation).

Anywhere in the playoffs is fine for me. I have faith in the players we have to make improvements to their own games and I have faith in the front ofice that they're doing their damnedest to improve the team. If you disagree, that's one thing. If you have unrealistic goals, that's another.

One step at a time people.

Let's just make the playoffs and work from there. ****, only like 7 teams have won a championship in the last 25 years..... does that mean all the other teams should just give up???

Return to Indiana Pacers
