Miller is a good fit for TPO, but I hope for a Team Option! 5 years, damn.

We can play without PG, especially with Lamar on the court:

Gasol
Odom
Artest
Bryant
Miller

Good Job Mitch (is miller it's true), but now you have to find 2 veterans (Eddie House e Joe Smith?) and trade Sasha! :D

Trading Sasha is pointless we are better off letting him walk so we can save some money not add anymore.

I hope they didn't really give this guy one day to give them an answer. This is why the Odom and Ariza situation got ugly last summer. I know we're justified to lowball and still look like a good option, but these guys need to stop being **** and let the breadwinners have some time to choose. He can't even sign for another week.

Fools-gold guys. Judging from the comments, I can tell most of you guys have not been following Mike Miller very closely. Inquire about Mike at the Minny & Wiz board, the dude has been on the decline for years. While he gives great effort and hustle, the dude doesn't shoot much anymore, often even when left wide-open he doesn't shoot. A 5-year deal would be insane.

I am really questioning the declining issue. In 33.4 mpg last year Miller hit 1.5 for 3.2 (per game) from 3 point range, which is 48% !!! That is playing with one of the worst supporting casts imaginable. He shot over 50% overall, and put up a solid 11 ppg, 6 rpg, and 4 apg. I agree that he does need to shoot more, but I really see that taking care of itself with all of the amazing looks he would get with Kobe, Pau, etc and Phil's coaching. Miller should be shooting more, but other than that I don't see any evidence of a decline.

Also when you are posting depth charts please remember that players can play multiple positions. If we end up only getting Miller and Critt, while losing Farmar and Brown, and retaining Fisher I think our depth chart would look like this.

Fisher (20) / Vujacic (10) / Critt (10) / Bryant (8)
Bryant (28) / Miller (20) / Vujacic (depth)
Artest (36) / Miller (12) / Ebanks (depth) / Walton (depth)
Gasol (20) / Odom (28) / Caracter (depth)
Bynum (32) / Gasol (16) / Mbenga or vet min (depth)

PG by commitee, Miller gets 32 mpg for the defending champs, what's not to love for him?

How many opportunities did he really get with the Wolves and Wizards? There's a big difference between playing for those clubs and playing for the Lakers who are contenders. For one, he'll be more motivated playing on a successful team. Who wouldn't be? He's also going to get the best looks of his life playing next to Kobe and Gasol. I seriously doubt he'll be passing up all those wide open 3-pointers. If he's attempting 3.1 3-pointers with those teams, I can guarantee you he'll be attempting at least 4 with us (5 would be ideal if he's going to shoot +40%).

That, and every single player who's come here in recent years has had a career year. It'll be no different with Miller.

Do some research, pull-up some articles on Miller. Look at his attempt figures. Sure, he hit %48 of his threes, but he was barely putting them up.

so whats the concern? that he physically can't shoot more? he's going to get more open shots with the lakers in one game than he got with his former teams in one week.

Exactly. Shot attempts are going to be the least of his concerns if he signs with the Lakers. Playing next to two legit post players and one of the best scorers in the world, he's going to get more open looks than he's ever had. Plus, he's still a very solid rebounder and passer.

Barring some fluke with one of the big guns, there isn't another player I'd rather sign. If so, you can kiss those pack-it-in defenses we saw from Phoenix and OKC goodbye. Miller will have that junk busted by halftime.

Hopefully it does get done. We all know that 3pt shooting was our weakness last year. We need someone to stretch the floor.

The earlier message bout Miller being in the decline and not taking alot of shots is also what some analysts have said about MIllers free agency this summer. I personally don't think he's on the decline but that fact that he's a 3pt shooter and doesn't shoot that many threes in a game is worrying.
