Carmelo's value is greatly diminished because he's a free agent after the 2010-2011 season. For all we know he is a one year rental.

Not sure where Carmelo thinks he is going and for what money after the new CBA kicks in. Max contracts are to diminish and the larry bird rights are going to change also. Can you say hard cap. That will change everything with the game. Everyone spending 50m.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread
Sixers out- Iggy, Williams, Green, Young, Smith, 2011 2nd round pick, 2012 2nd round pick
Sixers in- Anthony, Foster, D. Jones, S. Jones, Haddidi
Nuggets out- Anthony
Nuggets in- Aminu, Jordan, 2011 1st round pick from IND, 2011 1st round pick from MEM, 2011 2nd round pick from PHI
Clippers out- Aminu, Jordan
Clippers in- Iggy
Pacers out- Foster, D. Jones, S. Jones, 2011 1st round pick (lottery protected)
Pacers in- Williams, Green, Smith, 2012 2nd round pick
Grizzlies out- Haddidi, 2011 1st round pick (top 7 protected)
Grizzlies in- Young
Sixers do this get a #1 option to take all the pressure off of Turner as he develops, and 2 defensive minded role players in Foster and Dahntay Jones.
Nuggets do this to get value for Carmelo before he leaves next summer. Aminu would replace Melo at the small forward and Jordan would eventually replace Nene at center. The Grizzlies aren't going to be competitive anytime soon so that 1st round pick will likely be in the lottery.
The Clippers are rumored to be interested in Iggy but they are offering only cap space lol. Aminu and Jordan is what it would really take to get him.
The Pacers are rumored to be interested in Lou. Dahntay Jones is expendable with Granger, George, and Rush taking up all the minutes at the wings.
Thad can be Rudy Gay's replacement after he leaves in free agency.

Clipps would just cut everyone out and try to get Melo with a package of Aminu, Eric Gordon and Jordan for Melo and JR Smith.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread
With RJ opting out, the SPurs have a huge hole at the SF spot...
I wonder if they'd be interested in doing something like Young/Kapono(youth and vet) for S&T Splitter(ideally filling our hole at C)?
Parker/Hill
Ginobli/Anderson
Young/Kapono
Duncan/Blair
Haywood(FA)/Mcdyss

Would any of you do Iggy/Smith for Curry/Gallinari?

I might do that. Don't suggest it to Knicks fans, though. They'll have you believe that Gallinari is Jesus in basketball shorts.

What a disgrace to compare those two. Seriously, there is no need for that here. I don't care if I'm back-seat-moding, I want that post gone. To compare Gallinari to Jesus is disrepectful...
Gallinari is way better than Jesus.

The reason I ask is because I know Iggy would fit well in D'Antoni's fastbreak offense. Also the Knicks #1 goal is to land LeBron and if they already have Iggy and Amare (rumor is he's close to signing) there then they probably become the favorites to get him.

I'd do Curry/Gallinari in a heart-beat. Hell, I'll be fine with Bill Walker, who played very good basketball at the end for NYK.

Philadelphia trades Evan Turner
Memphis trades Hasheem Thabeet
#2 for #2! With Dalembert being traded, the Sixers are in need of a center. Memphis could use a legit pg with Mayo and Gay.

I like how he can score without shooting the ball

I think what Dedicated was trying to say is that Walker doesn't need the ball in his hands or the offense to flow through him to be effective. In other words he plays well off the ball, cutting to the basket, and scoring off of putbacks and lobs. He's a very active player right now around the offensive end but thats about it. Walker can't shoot, can't handle but plays well inside for a player his size. Reminds me of Cedric Ceballos from way back when. He has worked hard this summer to get himself in better shape and I personally am all out rooting for Walker to become a good player in this league.
As for the trade I don't think the Knicks would do it because D'Antoni is so high on Gallinari. It's for good reason too because I think Gallinari has a chance to beast in the NBA. I remember it taking Nowitzki two seasons before he really took off. Gallinari seems to be on the same path in my opinion. He improved a lot from last year and I think he will continue to do so.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread
Yeah, that's what I meant and that's what I liked of him coming out of college. A scorer that doesn't need the ball in his hands, will more then likely translate.
I mean, let's be honest: How many off-the-ball players are there? Richard Hamilton? Ray Allen? Kobe to an extent. The breed is dying. Hopefully Collins can develop Turner to be the next big thing.
