this is what i think will happen, in the next week or two well trade jefferson for less money so we can afford to sign david lee,

darko at center, lee at pf, W johnson at sf, martell webster at sg, flynn at pg

and in 2011 well have a better sg which well draft next year

Who are we going to trade Love (or Pekovic) to in this situation?

96 minutes
- 30 (Darko)
66
- 35 (Lee)
31
- 25 (Pekovic)
= 6 minutes left over for Love
or
31
- 30 (Love)
= 1 minute left over for Pekovic

Alec Burks, book it.

I really hope someone puts in an offer for Lee soon. He's better then Love but I want to see what the basic roster we have now can do, with a slight tweak or two.

well darko will play 25 minutes, lee 30minutes, pekovik 18minutes, love 17minutes, theres nothing wrong with a fresh lineup, 4 white big men never seen that before on a team just saying

also, darko will get in foul trouble some games which leads to more minutes for either love or pekovic it all levels out.

Darko/Pek
Lee/Pek
Johnson/Brewer
Webster/Harden
Flynn/Sessions

Note: I'm assuming to get Lee we have to get rid of Big Al

That's a squad.

We would have to trade Jefferson first before signing Lee.

Darko/Pek
Lee/Bjelicia/Hollins
Johnson/Webster/Hayward
Harden/Brewer/Ellington
Flynn/Sessions (Rubio)

+ whatever we can get in an AL trade (up to $8M worth of contracts + Cap Space)

Is Bjelica coming this season? I think it would be fun to watch him, I've heard he's got handles like a point guard and can play 1-4. Doubt he will see too much time at point or even the two just cause I don't think he has the speed to keep up with the guards in the league.
The Timberwolves will be good.....someday

Detroit would love to trade you Richard Hamilton plus a protected first rounder for Big Al.

Issue addressed, signed, sealed and delivered.

Hamilton is still a quality scorer, but he doesn't fit what Detroit is doing and they have a log jam at SG.

Git-r-dun....

Make it Jefferson/Hollins for RIP/Daye/unprotected 2011 1st and I might listen (that 1st would be a big gamble, but I could easily see Detroit being one of the 5 worst teams in the NBA.

He will be a fantastic player. I am so envious of you guys for grabbing him in the second round.

I don't agree, I think Detroit could come back with a pretty nice bounce back year this season. We were totally decimated by injuries last season. We lost Rip and Tayshaun for large chunks (Tay had a 400+ game "ironman" streak going before that), we lost Villanueva for a chunk, we lost Ben Gordon with a bad ankle sprain and we started our 2nd round pick in Jonas Jerebko for a few months. We relied heavily on Rodney Stuckey, Will Bynum and Ben Gordon for all of our points. Last year we started Ben Wallace at Center (he's old, but serviceable), this year, Greg Monroe should step in a make a big difference with legitimate size. I think Detroit should be able to recover. I expect a fringe playoff team, maybe squeezing into 7-8 in the east, but if we get Big Al, I would up that to 6-7.

I wouldn't expect beyond 9-10 in the east, maybe 8th seed contention with Big Al. Of course, this partially depends on where all the FAs go.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
