i did some running of numbers and i think this is a move BC makes. Its one that puts us in the playoffs + gives us assets.

- Scola would need to sign for no less than 9 million. (Gooden got 6.4, Amir got 6 something i think he will get 9-10)
- Scolas contract is swapped for Calderons
- Scola however is a BYC player after a 9 million deal, therefore his outgoing salary is 4.5

Battier (7.4)
Jeffries (6.8)
Brooks (2.1)
Scola (4.5)
* Houston 2011 1st Rounder (option to swap with NYK)
= 26.1 (after 1.25 + 100,00 rule)

for

Bosh (16.5)
Calderon (9)
= 25.5

Calderon / Lowry
Martin / FA / Taylor
Ariza / Budinger
Bosh / Hill / Patterson
Yao / Hayes / Andersen

Brooks / Jack / Banks
Battier / Derozan / Belinelli
Turkoglu / Weems / Jeffries
Scola / Davis / Evans
Bargnani / Johnson / Alabi

that team puts us in the playoffs IMO, i just dont know if Bosh would agree or if Houston is willing to part with Brooks, Battier, Scola

BC could just be waiting for LBJ to sign anywhere but NY and then a deal with Houston and the NY picks can go down

When it comes down to the wire, would Bosh go to Houston, clearly not his first option, rather than stay "home" in Toronto. This is if Wade and LeBron choose situations where Bosh is not welcome.

I don't see why that should matter.

Yes, he has pretty much burned his bridges in Toronto. There is no guarantee that Raps would want him back - time to go in another direction.

see, reading is fundamental and if you took a look and took the time to actually read the post youd see Brooks is heading out in this deal. Hes the only piece that the Rockets have that actually would start. Hill, Patterson really dont fit here because of Davis & Amir but its ok i understand your too busy to read

Why shouldn't he be?

If Bosh would take $15.7M instead of $16.6M, he could be S&T'd to Chicago for James Johnson, the Bobcat's pick, and a $14M TPE.

Buy taking that amount, and Wade taking the same...he (they) could play in this line-up.

Rose
Wade
Deng
Bosh/Gibson
Noah/Asik

The difference in total salary is $119M vs $125.6M over 6 years. That line-up will win the next 4 Championships. I think Wade may end up cutting ties with Bosh over this. Because if Wade/Bosh ends up passing on this....there is a very good chance that Bron/Boozer or Lee WILL join that team. Wade knows that he won't be able to beat such a team....Bosh does not seem to care.

Both Bron AND Wade know that they could either get the max with Chicago and play with Lee or Boozer (along with Rose, Deng, Noah, and Gibson), or they could take a pay cut and play join forces in Chicago. I'm sure Both would prefer to play WITH Bosh in Chicago (if all took slight cuts), but Bosh seems to be the one holding it up.....over $6.5M dollars spread over 6 years.

That is greedy IMO....

No, what you outlined is you being a greedy Chicago fan.

See how that works?
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Scola may be a euro but he's one tough mofo. He's an ironman, he doesn't miss games and he always plays hard. His defense while not terrific is hardly awful. I'll say average to slightly above average once you factor into his ability to flo.... take charge.

I saw that.. :-? I just don't see why they trade their best player at the most important position in the NBA right and his replacement is much more expensive and way worse... It make absolutely no sense.

I think some bridges are being burned right now between Bosh and the Raptors if JA Adande is to be believed. He's going to Houston or New Jersey, teams who can offer the max that Bosh covets, while making it worthwhile for the Raptors in a S&T. I doubt he returns to the Raptors.

Nope...
I am more than happy with just one max FA....and that isn't even a given..

But this has nothing to do with being a "greedy Chicago fan"....

This is about $119M vs $125.5M A 5% paycut to form a dynasty. If Bron or Wade are willing to do it (I'm assuming they are), then they would actually take bigger cuts (no 6th year or 10.5% raise) in order to win. Bosh talked about winning, but his actions say $$$.

But I"m more than happy if Bosh gets his max in Houston, because that means Miami will get shut and Wade will leave.

How do we know definitively that the 6 mil or so is the hold up?

First, Wade and Lebron haven't agreed to take any pay cuts to be a part of a dynasty. I'll believe it when I see it. Don't think Wade will do it, this is probably his last big contract.

Players have limited earning potential in years so it's imperative they maximize their dollars while they can no matter what player it is. To knock Bosh for that is rediculous.

Bulls fans are being a little greedy expecting these guys to take less, so is Riley and that tactic may have just cost him everything this summer.

I really am hoping though that Miami and NY get severely shut out - Miami with no one and NY overpaying for average guys trying to show they did something.

This rumor strains credibility....6 mil over 6 years? 500k per year after taxes? Absolutely no way that is the hold up....

Could we take back less and dump Jose on em'? He'd be a great backup PG to Brooks and form a Forderon 2.0 combo with the sudden change of pace.

**And for the situation the Raptors are in, I think it would be better if we just got as many picks/young players as we could and maybe expirings. Any combination of the two picks/Shane Battier/Jordan Hill would make my extremely content.
