Luol Deng

If POR traded for Deng with Chi would you guys take him from the Blazers for capspace? I believe that would give us a TPE we can then use to in other trades. There is a rumor we might trade for Deng with Chi, using Pryz and Balyess. Would Clips do it?

Why wouldn't we just trade with Chicago directly? Because of the FA thing?

you could but I think Chi wants and need a few players besides just capspace, we can trade them some combo of Pryz Bayless Rudy, or Miller Bayless Rudy, they have no guards left.

Deng is kinda low on the list so we'd just look at other options first before looking at him. Kinda hard to say at this point.

There are still plenty of SFs available in free agency. None have the impact of LeBron or Johnson, but Deng doesn't have that either. So we just gotta wait and see how things pan out first and lay this one in the maybe pile for a bit. :)

No thanks. There's a reason why Deng's value has plummeted over the years: he's overpaid and injury prone. Also, AFA should learn from a SF who has much more leadership/experience at the position than Deng IMO (Tayshaun Prince! :D).

If Houston really has a shot for Bosh and wants to free up some cap space, then how about Battier for T.E. cap space? One year loan, can go after Melo next year possibly with with Melo knowing how awesome Griffin really is. More flexibility than others. Plus, Battier is that glue guy we've been needing and would be a great mentor for Griffin, great character guy.

We're not getting Melo. Our best chance of success is to build on what we have rather than try and clear cap space. That has not worked for us yet (assuming a miracle doesn't happen and we get LeBron James). I would rather go after Tayshaun than Battier to be honest.

Dang, deng sure does get alot of hate around these days. Sure his contract overpays him a bit (not horribly like others think), but hes a fairly efficient scorer, good rebounder at the sf, a really good defender, can be a solid 2nd or 3rd primary scorer on a good team. I'd definitely rather have him than Prince. They both pretty much have the same weakness's as well.

Lack of 3 point shooting for both. Injury problems (prince was mostly just last year, but he missed alot of time, deng has consistent injury bugs over the last few years, but last year wasn't too bad.

They are similar players, but dengs slightly superior across the board statwise. They both get paid almost identically (around 11 mil next year), with the main difference being Prince's contract expires in 11, whereas dengs goes on till 2014. If we looking to rebuild, than trading for Prince's expiring is fine i guess (probably dumping kaman to the pistons in the process), but if its just based on trying to build a winning/competitive team right now i'd rather have deng even with his contract going on an extra 3 years. He gets hated on alot mostly because chicago would rather have lebron, and they play the same position and his contract is in the way of getting a 2nd max fa.

i'd love to get deng on this team for cheap but his lack of 3-point shooting concerns me a little. that was one of the biggest weaknesses on offense last season and deng does nothing to alleviate the issue.

still, he's very solid 3rd scorer and contributes in all facets of the game. i think he'd be a great pick up since it looks like clippers might strike out on all the big name free agents.

Bulls Fan Here. We'll give you Deng for anything. Cap space is really what we want. If we got any chance at LBJ, then we got to move Deng. I fell he would be good player for you guys.

For me it's gotta be Deng/JJ/Taj/CHA First for TPE/'11 Second (Top 55 Protected)

I wouldn't trade for Deng at all. He's owed a ton of money and I believe 4 more years. The last thing we need is another injury proned player.

Iggy or Prince is a better option.

^ I also saw some Bulls fans saying that Deng didn't like Vinny too much as his coach, so now we have Vinny aboard, I think we should definitely go in a different direction.
