I'm not arguing that McGrady is still a good player, I was just saying he had a legit reason to complain about receiving only 7 minutes per game when he was attempting to revive his own career.

Sig made by me.

with only 1.78 mil left of the MLE, Tmac may be a suitable option now (or Raja) for that b/u wing slot.

Re: Tmac on Twitter: Thanks for the Love Lakers' fans
Bleacher Report: Since his agent last communicated the veteran guard’s wishes to the Lakers’ organization back in early June, Tracy McGrady’s camp has not received any contract offer from the Los Angeles Lakers.
McGrady still holds great interest in playing for the champion Lakers, yet the team has yet to initiate any contract negotiations since the NBA’s free agency period began on July 1.
The reason for this lack of contact stems from the Lakers’ front office desire to maintain control over the negotiation process.
Back in June, Tracy McGrady’s agent indicated that the superstar guard would sign for no less than the mid-level exception at $5.8 million.
The Lakers, not intimidated by such a strong statement, have withheld any contract offers to the former Houston guard in response.
With the signing of Steve Blake at $4 million per year, the Lakers have $1.8 million left to spend using the team’s mid-level exception.
However, the Lakers would prefer to sign McGrady at the veteran’s minimum, a pay cut too steep for the former All-Star guard, who made $22.8 million during the 2009-2010 NBA season.

I sent him a tweet regarding that very subject. No response as of yet. That's a bummer too. He'd be great for this team and he'd really ignite our bench.

his play isn't a guarntee either, based on knick fan response he looked pretty much done as he played more and more throughout the remainder of the season.....but I guess if he takes the remaining MLE its not quite a big risk.

He fits your system, and he has to come off the bench. His health will not allow him to play a full season. Use him like the Heat used Alonzo Morning in their championship run. Rest him against weak teams, and play him in tough games and get him ready for the playoffs. He can play with both Artest and Kobe on the court. Add to your scoring punch.

Our fans bash a guy that brought three titles to this team and call him a has been or he sucks he's done, yet he was the second best player behind Lebron and the best team in the E/C so what do you expect from a fan base that hasnt seen a title in several decades and their future is hanging on a guy that isnt even interested in joining their future plans.
I'd rather take my chance with Tmac seeing how the samething was said by other fans about Rons behavior or Arizas knee etc etc.

He's started nearly his entire career. And he has FAILED in the post season. If he comes off our bench, he'll get his first taste of advancing when it counts. I'm personally not hopeful that we get him, but I also don't see it is being very realistic at all.

Can you tweet Mike Miller and ask him to take the 1.8 pretty please?
