You think Brand/Scola would automatically make us contenders? Brand is done as a player and is massively overpaid. 13/6 won't automatically make us contenders. Scola is already a sub par defender at the 4 yet you expect him to play the 5? If you watched the playoffs last year, you could see how easily he got destroyed by longer players such as Pau. Once they take out that jumpshot and start hustling more, Scola gets shut down.

If Brand was half the player that you're making him out to be the Sixers wouldn't have gotten the second pick.

Brand is one of my favorite players and I might be overrating him, but I've seen a lot of him when he was on the Clippers and he was an amazing player. He was probably the most underrated player in the game back then. I have a hard time believing that he's done at age 31 but maybe you're right. I'm looking forward to seeing how he plays next year.

Like that deal all around and the only thing is would Memphis want Scola

Last year, per 36, Scola was almost identical to Jefferson, and he shouldn't be paid 13m next year.

So Scola's best season is comparable to one of Jefferson's worse seasons where he came back early from a torn ACL. 42m over 3 years is not overpaid for someone who gets 22/11, especially when you see guys like Randolph and Brand getting ~17m next year.

One of the concerns I have about Jefferson though, is his habit of being a volume scorer. I'm sure that'll change though once he gets to Houston since he we have tons of shooters to surround him with.

OMG, this guy is serious. He is actually trying to sell how great Brand could be with a straight face. Whats next, someone coming in here and telling us Hedo and Tyson Chandler could lead us to the promise land. Jokes aside, I'd rather the Rockets take a chance on a broken TMAC or a faded AI. Atleast they wouldn't break our bank to get them.
