Good Pick up.... I would have liked to sign Mike Miller for the mle and then traded Sasha's expiring for a point guard or could have got a pg in a sign and trade for sasha

Is it a smart move to offer him that kind of contract or should we just keep Jordan Farmar. I know right now Steve Blake is a better player. But Jordan Farmar is younger and has potential. Should we just offer Farmar a cheaper deal? What do you think guys?

jordan is the biggest enigma on this team, and thats saying inre; odom and artest and even kobe who can be mercurial at times...

jordan is very stubborn and headstrong, and talented too, but there has been numerous times where he just cant fit his game to go with our program, as has been said before here, even when rambis was still with us, on the PMS show rambis said that there was some sort of fundamental that howland had taught jordan(paraphrasing) that was just about the opposite of phil/ nba style of play...

that said , even jordan has said that this system is difficult and very hard for him to adjust to, even after all this time and only having played nba ball here...he effectively has said that a different system would be better for him...

i dont think his comments are meant as an insult to the org or the city, he was born here and went to college here...

its time to move him, and that is by no way an insult to him...

Good. Steve Blake is a good fit. I would prefer a younger PG with more potential like Randy Foye just to make regular season more interesting but when it comes to playoffs Blake looks like a good desicison. :D

Free-agent point guard Steve Blake has reached agreement on a four-year, $16 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Before the Lakers secured a commitment from Blake, general manager Mitch Kupchak had Bucks point guard Luke Ridnour willing to take a four-year, $12 million offer, a league source says. The Lakers then gave Blake a deadline of Friday afternoon to accept their four-year, $16 million offer.

Once Blake did, the Lakers obtained the kind of savvy point guard to eventually transition from Derek Fisher.

Blake broke the news of his agreement on the radio show of Oregonian columnist John Canzano.

Blake was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers by the Portland Trail Blazers in February and averaged 6.8 points and 6.1 points in 29 games for them.

is there any chance this deal could start off at lower than $4 million, and goes up about 5% or something every year, so Blake would be getting paid about $5 million in the last year. that way we would have more of the MLE to spend this year.
