Summer League game 1 box score

Post#1 » by return2glory » Tue Jul 6, 2010 12:15 am

Here is the Summer League game one box score.

http://www.nba.com/summerleague/games/2 ... einfo.html

Harnangody was impressive shooting the ball. He had 23 points on 13 shoots, in only 28 minutes. No suprise. Luke led the Big East in scoring on back to back seasons.

Art Parakhouski was impressive on the boards. He grabbed 10 rebounds in just 18 minutes. Art led the Nation in rebounding this season, so the guy can board. He is a space eater and loves to rebound. He even tries to get offensive rebounds off FT's.

His shot is weird as hell looking though.

Will be interesting to see if he can get it off against real players.

DJ White is an nba caliber player that happens to be behind Ibaka, Green, and Collison in the depth chart.

I didn't watch the game, but that free throw disparity suggests our defense wasn't very effective.

Thats a pretty good summer league team for the thunder. How is he even playing? Love the boards. And, harangody is going to be able to score in the NBA.

Problem is he is too small to be a constant threat at the next level. He is another version of BBD. We need a big not a tweener.

^^ right, at #52 we had our pick of quality big men, and instead we chose this loser Harangody. all he does is score and rebound.

i think gody looked fantastic. not only did he have a good looking jumper (well set shot actually) but he had some nice plays inside scoring over bigger guys. he had a tough rebound and putback late. he got beat on a couple of defensive rotations but 1-on-1 he was passable, and made DJ white shoot over him.

park's 10 rebounds didn't impress me too mcuh. he just basically grabbed what came to him. which is more than can be said for erden, who literally watched several balls go by him while moving in the opposite direction.

Erden is a poor man's rookie Darko. He isn't going to help us at all this year and probably never.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Looks like Harangody didn't suck- and although success in the summer league doesn't predict success in the NBA, sucking at summer league ball pretty much predicts sucking in real games..

Who else grabbed 10 boards in 18 minutes? Rebounds are rebounds. He was able to get them better than anyone on either team. Anyway you look at it, 10 rebounds in 18 minutes is impressive. Parakhouski didn't jump 12 feet in the air to get those rebounds. He didn't fly over people's backs to get those rebounds. He created space and greabbed nearly every rebound around him.

I disagree. I think Al Jefferson sucked his second year in the summer league and freaked out the entirety of Celtic message board nation. Tough to gauge big guys because few guards find them.

I didn't think Harangody had that kind of range on his shot. Maybe he's been working on it. If he could lose some weight and get in better shape he could turn into a 3. He reminds me more of Ryan Gomes than of Glen Davis at this point.

Parakhouski intrigues me a lot. Let's see the rest of SL, but he might be worth a roster spot or at least a spot on the preseason squad to see how he does against better NBA talent.

I'll let Erden mulligan this game in the mean time, no one else worth noting.

I know it was only one game but I think Art Parakhouski will make the team over Semih Erden.

man, Erden just got a guaranty contract . how is it possible?

maybe if also aRt got a quaranty deal and able make the team ..

Erden said he hadnt play basketball about 3-4 weeks so he wasnt ready and he was a liitle banged up.
So maybe he'll play better in next one
give him little time

I thought Oliver Lafayette looked pretty good also.
