Re: NBA Summer League
That's the idea - Stephenson will play a combo guard role if he gets signed by the Pacers, that's why we're giving him the chance to prove his PG skills. This summer league would only determine if he can cross the halfcourt without much errors, if he possesses court vision, etc. and surprisingly, i think he's doing extremely good. If he surpass the expectations of the coaches, he would likely see big minutes as a PG as a primary reserve or as a starter if we end up unsuccessful in acquiring a new PG.
Now that it seems like he's got some good court vision after all, next thing would be consistency.
If he can stick to what he's doing now, making plays and sharing the ball, he could soon be a starter, with no other real contenders in the roster so far.
There's just no point in signing Stephenson to play SG with the depth we have at the wing position, not to mention George who most probably play SG next to Danny at SF.
Stephenson will get signed to play the point.

Re: NBA Summer League
^ Because Rush would be a good 6th man behind the starting SG. And i don't think Larry is ready to give up on him yet. But i don't see him as an untouchable either. Larry might just be looking for the best value he could get for Rush - no one year rentals, no salary dumps, etc. in short, someone more useful than Rush has ever been.

I can't see Larry lettin Lance go for any reason. And if he isn't ready to give up on Rush, which he almost traded him last season, then Dahntay or Dunleavy, hopefully Dunleavy, is traded I don't care if it is for a late 1st round pick. Mike and Troy gotta go.

Great link. It really explains Rush's unseen value. It seems like he's going to be a defensive guy down the road, someone like a Bruce Bowen with more offensive capabilities. It's just he might actually be better off the bench as a defensive weapon next to a "could be" scorer in Paul George.
Larry would not deal Rush unless we're getting a real deal in return.

Re: NBA Summer League
I know he can bring certain things to the team, but the Spurs could have replaced Bruce Bowen at any time and still won those championships. That's not sayin Bowen wasn't important but he was replaceable. Same with Rush.

Re: NBA Summer League
For the remaining games let's try to guess what Lance's stats will be. Since Terrance Williams or Ben Uzoh will be guardin him and coachin staff will ask him to be a pass first player this game I say he gets
14 points
3 rebounds
8 assists
3 turnovers
5/10 FGM/FGA
4/6 FTM/FTA
What do ya thank?

Re: NBA Summer League
It would be exciting to see Lance and Paul go against Terrence Williams and Rolle matching up against a bigger Zoubek.
I'd be glad if Stephenson scores 20+ again, and yeah, maybe a little more assists.
George needs to stay out of foul trouble.

Re: NBA Summer League
Lance could have easily had 7 or 8 assists if players were hittin they shots. He created more offense then the rest of the team could handle.

Re: NBA Summer League
I think all three of our draft picks are playing well so far. If you look at the Rookie Ladder on NBA.com you will see all three of them in the top 8 of rookie performers in the Orlando summer league. No other team has more than one. I'm glad they are getting noticed and I hope this is a sign of great things to come from the trio.

Re: NBA Summer League
I have pretty much hated every draft pick that Larry has made...i was wrong on Roy but the others have stunk........but Bird knocked this draft out of park - its like we came out of the draft with 3 first round picks. Draft Express totally whiffed on their evaluation of Rolle.
