Roger Mason, Jr. close to signing, but with who?

Per Wiretap, Mason's agent says he's close to signing with an unidentified team.

I for one hope its with the Lakers on the cheap. He'd give us a much needed scoring punch off the bench and our guard situation will be set (assuming we sign Fish).

6'5 guard, 7.1ppg, 1.5ast, 38%-3pt. Last yr salary: 3.7 mill
Basically a set shooter. And how is his defense?

Raja Bell --> cheaper, better defender, equally as good with 3pt shot.
Mason wont sign for less than 2 mill. We have a better chance at getting Bell... so... forget Mason. nexxxt!

I doubt it's the Lakers, the FO is probably focused more on a proven veteran and I'm almost positive another team out there would overpay for Mason.
Thank you, Phil.

The heat could be looking at options to fill out there bench. So would be a lot of teams. We have no money to give. I do not see him signing for 1 million or so. If we get him. It would be ok, not the best move. He is the Spurs free agent. I bet they could pay him more than most.

Wiretap says they are looking at Korver. If im correct, Mason saw minutes for the spurs at the SF position (like Bruce Bowen). I doubt the heat would want he and Korver together since they should be more focused on filling out the roster with missing gadgets than acquiring duplicates. My guess is --> Spurs... or maybe even Utah. If Korver bolts, they will have no 3pt shooters.

wtf... Korver's a FA? I doubt he'd take 2 million, but I'd take him over Mike Miller, Barnes, Bell, and definitely Mason if I had to choose. Steve Blake better earn his keep if we end up empty at the 3.
