He just think he is "the guy" in this summer league meaning the #1 option..which he pry should be, but for some reason he got shoot the open 3 in his head and went with that...I hope he doesn't think that he's a 3 point shooter because most of his threes were good shots but he only went 2 for 12...he just needs to stick to his game, the coaches need to tell him to keep it inside the 3 point line the next few games. I'm not to upset with him because im sure the coaching staf told him to shoot the open shots.

The guy has been shooting 500 3's a day in practice since the season has ended. It's good for summer league games just to see what he can do when it's more then just him against himself. Obviously he needs work, but you don't know till you are out there.

Dude, Summer League is for this kind of crap when you have a spot on the team pretty much guaranteed.

He is only doing what his coach is asking him to do. Do you guys think McRoberts is a guy who is used to shooting behind the three point line? O'Brien said during the broadcast Tuesday that to play the PF on this team you have to make three point shots. That's why the coaching staff has McRoberts taking 500 three point shots during practice per day. And they added him to the summer league roster at the last minute so he could work on taking three point shots during actual games. If you guys can't detect O'Brien's influence by now you'll never will.

Well don't blame him, blame the coach. He's shooting that because coach wants him to.

Watched the entire game last night and McRoberts was bad. Bad as he was its still obvious that he has remarkable ball skills for someone his size and above average athleticism. Its good that he's playing in these games. He needs the floor time. Somewhere along the line I'd like to see the Pacers give him real and consistent playing time just to see what he might be able to do.

I was refering to the "PF must be able to shoot 3's in this team" mentality from JOB. That's just stupid.

i'm with you killer. I wouldn't want to start a team even with Dirk for that very reason. Makes me ill to see a seven footer lurking on the perimeter. It's thinking like that that land you Murphy s. How about "A power forward on this team must be able to eliminate uncontested dunks behind the centers back". I so miss the Dale Davis!

Not just that, but it doesn't compliment Roy's game at all. And we are supposed to be building around him and Danny?

Theres a Mike Wells article all about how Obie is having McBob do all this in the off season. It makes me more mad that McBob is the one taking the blame and not Obie. McBob wants to stay on the roster. Therefore hes going to do whatever Obie tells him to. McBob is a serviceable backup in my opinion.

We got a native Hoosier who wants to make it with the home team. He has size and strength and is showing improvment each year. Take the gloves off and turn him loose. He cannot get worse(meaning he will get better and better with playing time).

GO MCBOB!!!!

Please don't compare McNob and Troy because there is no comparison really. In college Troy was putting up 'Big Dog numbers, while McNob had a pedestrian stint at Duke. In the pros Troy has a career double-double average. The reason this works for Troy is becasue he also adds elite rebounding with the capability to root guys out.

O'Brien is a fool, even the announcers were dumbfounded. McRoberts wasn't even drawing a defender towards the end because they were conditioned to ignore him. I'd rather see Josh use his athleticism and ability to pass a lot more. He will not be depended on to score this season, so there is no need to let him take away from another player on the brink. A player that can use this time to either impress us or another team. McNob is already guaranteed a spot, and he certainly played like it didn't matter to him.

The summer league is for developing/introducing young players to your system. Atleast they learned that 6 of 26 on threes is okay in Obie's offense, where 'just keep shooting' is the motto.

Alert: Just because you take 500 threes a day, you will not transform into Bird. Bird took a 1000 a day, and Bird had the best shot on the planet in his time.

Oh and by the way. The starting lineup this season should be......

PG-Stephenson/Price/Ford(if not traded)
SG-George/Rush/DJones
SF-Granger/Dunleavy
PF-Rolle/Hansbrough/Mcbob/Murphy(Dunleavy,Murphy,SJones and Foster are IR or bench due to 1 yr remaining)
C -Hibbert/Mcbob(coming in for either position for strength)/Foster/SJones

If you look at the bright side, we have Granger being the oldest starter. WHAT A FUTURE!

Obrien is a fool and I believe he is the first player/coach that needs to go. I love Murphy and wished we could have drafted him, but I don't see him being here longer than the trade deadline. We have to focus on what we have(and will have) and start the transition. The three draft picks are the second to final step to achieving our goal of creating a solid team from the ground up for years to come. Stephenson will hopefully keep improving and become our PG, so we won't havr to worry about what other teams want for their trash.
