Nothing about the finals from me, we were beat with or without the refs. It was Dirk and Josh Howard vs Wade and a still dominant Shaq. We lost.

Why couldn't "baby flash" dominate the spurs? He did. Even fans with the most basic knowledge on Roddy know this. He was put in once during the entire series when Rick was getting desperate in Game 6 and he dominated. Take 2 minutes of your time and check it out.

I agree this kid has a ton of potential, upside, and the tools to become a great PG in the future, but the thing we were stating is some of your fans were posturing us about not even mentioning him in a trade without Wade being a part of it which is completely absurd. Also he doesn't seem to be that important to your coaching staff the way they only gave him limited minutes.

I think everyone's looking at this conversation the wrong way. We aren't trying to say "if you want Roddy, then Wade has to be included" or that Roddy is on the same level as Wade at all. At the start of the summer it was known to everyone that if we were going to get any big free agent it was going to be through a S&T package based around Damp's instant 13 million expiring and any assets we could throw around that. It was also known to everyone that the Mavs FO was very high on Roddy (as is the fanbase obviously) and made it clear to the public that Roddy would only be involved in the conversation if we had accomplished the seemingly impossible and gotten Wade or LBJ to request their respective management to explore the possibilities of a S&T. I guess Bosh too but we've known for about a year that he wasn't interested in coming here at all. Everyone here who is talking all this noise about how we should have given Roddy up for JJ are completely ignoring the fact that he is an extremely overrated, unaccomplished post season performer who is now on one of the worst contracts in the league. I would much be paying Roddy whatever we are paying him in 6 years at the age of 26 than pay JJ $20 million at the age of 35. JJ's game is going to plummet in a couple years the same way Michael Finley's did we he turned 32 or 33, he's nothing but a jump shooter....a jump shooter with a $120 million payday.

And our coaching staff is stupid, that's why Roddy didn't play. He is that important to our franchise though and he'll play this year or Rick's ass is gone.

@Akshan.....what? I said you needed a center and a backup PG because Riley is looking for them not because i'm arrogant or irrational. you have 2 players under salary, now knowing that, explain to me how you don't have needs on your roster. And you're right, we didn't get out of the first round, that has absolutely nothing to do with this conversation so i don't understand how that's a response. you did sound really cool though when you started bragging about that lone playoff win that Wade had to drag the Heat to, i shouldn't have ever opened my mouth, how could i forget that you could pull that ultimate trump card on me.

It funny how most of the Heat posters (not all) call us arrogant for expressing a viewpoint and then respond with an insult about the '06 finals rather than keep to the conversation at hand. I'm not going to take it personally man, I didn't play, neither did you, I just really like to follow the NBA.

fair enough... but just a couple points here

1) Only reason we say there's no one on your team we'd give up Roddy for other than Wade of course is because the price has been set on Roddy. Cuban has set the bar at "super star" status. Unless the Mavs get back an impact player that can play batman or a legit robin to Dirk, he's not going anywhere. That's not just fans, it's our front office. We wouldn't reject lottery picks then trade him for Beasley.

2) Carlile and Roddy were literally in the news every freaking day. There were actually organized campaigns to "free Roddy B," and there were numerous disagreements among the coach staff about Roddy's PT. Rick's job security legitimately came into question due Roddy's PT, that's how crazy it got in Dallas. He also benched T. Prince his entire rookie season.... some coaches just have strict protocol when it comes to rookies.

Ight and Pat Riley is good at making teams and going into Win Now Mode and u guys are making Roddy should like he is amazing 15 mins a game and one amazing highlight video on youtube congrats man. So does this mean Gorgan Dargic is a top 5 PG in the league too Miami has been to the playoffs with lower than average teams and just Wade and u Mavs fan have a stacked team so now let me count tht means u have a total of 5 All-Stars on ur team ?
CHI BULLS
PG - Michael Carter - Williams , Jerian Grant
SG- DWYANE WADE , Denzel Valentine
SF- Jimmy Butler,Nikola Mirotic,Doug McDermott PF-Taj Gibson,Paul Zipzer
C -Robin Lopez, Cristiano Felicio,

You repeatedly show your absolute unwillingness to take 2-3 minutes to research the kid.

Do you honestly think that the Mavs were offered top 10 lottery picks for him because he put up one highlight reel on youtube? It's more like 20 or 30, but I guess youtube is just too complicated for some people.

And people can say we're "stacked" all they want, but perhaps they don't realize that we don't have one single starter other than Dirk that's in their prime. Every single stater and most of our bench players for that matter are over the age of 30. We're the oldest team in the league. No one is an all star besides Dirk.... they're all over the hill former all stars that couldn't stay in front of their man on D if their life depended on it. Kidd couldn't guard a drunken tortoise on his best day.

Ight and Pat Riley needs a center and a backup pg if he's going to make a team. I'm don't care what you think about Roddy anymore, there's not an NBA fan outside of Dallas who has seriously watched him play because of Rick. He'll start at the 2 alongside Kidd this year and get his 30 mpg so if he sucks, come find me and tell me I'm stupid. I didn't say he was a top 5 pg. Miami made the playoffs in the LEastern Conference and won one playoff, good job. 5 All Stars? We have 4 players who have made an All Star team, two of them did it half a decade ago, one was an undeserved replacement who was only there because it was in Dallas and the other was Dirk. I love how people call players All Stars when they haven't played an All Star game in years. Is Jamal Magloire available?? Ben Wallace?? I can't believe that All Star Elton Brand couldn't lead the 76ers to the playoffs this year. What do you mean Wade didn't have help this year, Jermaine O'Neal is a **** All Star! Is that why you don't want to trade him for Haywood??

Lol, Roddy will never come to Miami in a trade like that. He's much too overrated.

BTW, if Roddy is a future superstar, Ty Lawson must be future GOAT. I'd much rather have him at this point..

If you guys don't get LeBron to team up with Wade and Bosh, Haywood should be your number one target. A line-up of Chalmers/Wade/Beasley/Bosh/Haywood would be pretty darn good, and if you could upgrade PG and get some decent bench players South Beach would be in great shape. You guys would actually look a lot like the Lakers.

Kobe and Wade are the two best shooting guards in the league.
Bosh and Gasol both very skilled PF's, with an array of offensive moves.
Haywood and Bynum both defensive, big body, big men capable of getting you double-doubles.
Fisher and Chalmers both have obvious flaws but can have great moments.
Beasley and Artest both can play the 4th option on offense.
Haslem and Odom are both the first bigmen of the bench.

Now if you could sign another quality player or two, say Mike Miller and another big, thats a damn good squad.
