Well, it's good to see Hayward doing exactly what we hope he'd be doing which is playing off of the other guys like he will have to in our current roster and when it matters making big shots. I am excited to see him playing with the big guys on our team. Nice to see Evans show up a little bit, and even though Kosta was clumsy 11/11/4 is a good sign.

Daniel Orton is really struggling, good thing he didn't go to a lottery team otherwise they'd be really worried.

David Thorpe is raving over Jeremy Evans. Don't think he's the best talent evaluator, but it's nice to see someone think he make an NBA team.

Nice game by Hayword. He played nicely to his abilities... A couple of jumpers a couple of rebounds and yada yada yada. We still need much much help... I still think KOC's job is still on the line if he doesn't address our major issues this offseason... Big men. He needs to improve us or Deron is gone to a championship contender which the Jazz aren't...

I enjoyed what evans brought to the game today. Nice athletic play and he looked to block shots and actually did get some nice ones. Also im not sure but was it evans who tried to get that put back dunk tip in? Starting to see why the jazz took a flyer on this kid. It's early but this type of game is what i was kind of expecting, lets see him in game 3. Anyone know why our euro hasn''t played yet? contract issues? injury? Hayward I liked what I saw he goes after rebounds when he has a chance, good team defense, getting blocks and steals. Let's the game come to him rather then force it, but one of these games i want him to at least put up 10 shots. I liked koufos today, getting after the rebounds showing some confidence in his shot and playing hard, had some blocks, huge improvement from game 1. Jeffers seemed active tonight, seemed he was hustling alot and it seemed he just kept coming up with the ball. However he didnt do much else. Gaines im not sure what he is, he seems like a point who can't shoot very well and can only score by getting inside. The backup Point is worrying me more and more.

The Euro has a sore achilles tendon.

To add insult to injury, Maynor is playing exceptionally well in Orlando.

Backup PG is a huge issue along with the center position. I would let Gaines go because he is simply too stupid. He is a great one on one player but doesnt makes other players better. Price needs to move to 3rd string PG and SG. Adding a veteran PG like the Lakers did in Steve Blake would be helpful. Believe it or not I would want Fisher back!!!

I'm sure fisher is going to give up another ring next year to come here after all the **** we talked on him.

I think I have a better chance at being signed by the Jazz next year.

Luke RIdinour is the only appealing name of available backup PGs, but his price will not be cheap and we wont have the money to sign him.

My takes:
Kosta - Much improved from last game. Didnt rush his shots. Rebounded the ball well. Challenged shots well. Really good game.

Hayward - Good game. Continues to not do too much wrong. Shot looks nice. Good fundamentals and intangibles, but watching him play these two games it is still pretty tough to accept him as the #9 pick in the draft. I almost feel bad for him.

Sundiata - Good first half, terrible 2nd half. I cant believe all of the **** he is taking on this board. Running the point in summer league and looking good is pretty tough. It seems like he is doing his best to run the system and isnt forcing too much. He will be fine.

Othyus - still getting beat on defense consistently. Wasnt he supposed to be a stopper? Didnt do too much.

Augustine - Didnt look nearly as good this game. Davis was eating his lunch and drinking his milk. Really got out muscled.

Evans - MY MAN! Showed some glimpses. Couple nice finishes at the rim. Couple of nice blocks. Wonder if he can put on any weight between now and camp.

Just watched the game, here are my takes:

Hayward: looks good so far. He can shoot, he can pass, he can rebound, he seems very aware of where he is on the floor and where he's supposed to be. My guess is the coaches are loving him already.

Gaines: looks very poised even when he's making poor decisions. He needs to knock down a few more mid-range jumpers and more free-throws. If he works hard I think he should give Ronnie P a run for the backup job (but I really hope they find someone else).

Koufos: Looked much, much better. Hit a jumper, rebounded VERY well and played some good defense. I'd still like to see him play with a little more patience on offense. Everything looks rushed.

The rest: meh

Koufos brought a lot of intensity in this game, that was great to see, if only Fesenko could match that kind of intensity when he plays.

Evans is as advertised, he's athletic and long enough to block shots and finish at the rim.

I agree. I watched the game and its nice to see him hit some jumpers and get a rebound or two, but in the back of my mind I'm wondering if this is really what we needed. Short of Hayward playing like a white lebron, he doesn't really improve to our team overall, because he doesn't address our glaring need for a defensive big man. I have very little doubt Hayward will be a contributer on the offensive end in some form, the questions is did the jazz need another offensive roleplayer or a player who can clog the middle?

As much as we need a big man, and it is undoubtedly the most glaring hole in our roster, a dynamic wing player who can stretch the defense and put the ball on the floor consistently hasn't exactly been our strong suit over the past 10 years either. Having a guy who can create mismatches with his height and ball handling ability would really benefit the Jazz.

I honestly believe that the Jazz front office thought they were taking the BPA with Hayward, and if that is the case I can stand by it.

I think they were taking the BPA, but we will have to see how the 3-4 guys pan out that went after him and see how he does. He looks like he could be a good player but I want to see him on the court with Deron.
