Guys, calm down... this is not surprising. CB always wanted to go to Miami, that much was obvious. And even those of us on these forums knew Wade was never serious about Chicago. That said, it is of course dissappointing. We all got our hopes up for the next dynasty, and now that appears to be unlikely.
But, sometimes being a fan isn't always about having a dynasty. Yes, I concede it would have been awesome to win multiple championships and watch Bosh and/or Wade/Lebron demolish other teams, but wouldn't it be more satisfying to see us win a title with DRose as the leader and Joakim playing the emotional leader role? Lebron will always belong to Cleveland, just as Wade will to Miami since he won a title there. But Rose and Noah are ours. And how much fun would it be to watch them develop and grow and win a championship together.
That said, we still have a lot of improving to do. Step one is to sign Boozer/Lee. That solidifies the PF spot and puts Taj on the bench, playing 20 minutes a night, where he belongs. Step two is to go out and get shooters. Yes, PLURAL. If we sign Boozer for, say, $14 million/year, we'll still have almost $16 million remaining. That should be enough to get two shooters and fill out the bench. My preference is to pursue Korver and Morrow. If we can't land either of those two, try for Ray Allen or Mike Miller, both of whom will be over-priced.
Boozer
Deng
Noah
Rose
Morrow
With a bench of Taj, JJ, Korver.
Pretty solid.
