That's speculation only. While I am not hopeful, Mike and Mike are far from experts and no one knows exactly what else will happen. -- Well we do know that there will be egomania --

Considering all the money still out there to spend on free agents, I find it a little hard to believe they'll be able to fill the remaining roster spots with any kind of decent quality.

I think its a little less that 17 million if both sign the max.

Wouldn't it have to be less considering they were talking pay cut to add LBJ to the mix?

Yeah the original quote there is not true.

Bron and Bosh could not have both come to Chicago. We don't have the money lest we do a S&T. Colangelo was demanding Noah, or posturing as such, thus preventing Bosh from being able to commit to us.

Would you rather see them try and possibly fail though? Because that's the best we can hope for right now if we don't get Lebron.

I agree though, that this is going to light a fire under D Rose.

I don't believe that failure is a guarantee anymore than I think that Bosh and Wade is a guarantee to win. I have no idea how good Rose will become and that's the biggest wild card on this Bulls team right now. He's pretty good after only 2 seasons and he has a lot of years to work and get better in all areas. I also don't believe that Noah is at his peak after only 3 seasons despite what others may think. He improved a lot just this past offseason and I wouldn't be surprised if he kept improving even though he is at an advanced age for a typical 3rd year player.

I always go back to what I know and one thing I know for sure is that LeBron has never won anything except personal awards. Wade has won and that's why I would have loved to have him over James. We know he can back up his talk. He decided to stay in Miami so that's not an option anymore. Still I'd take James and be happy as well even though I can't stand the guy.

Mostly, I want to see the Bulls give Rose some offensive help and Noah get a good PF to play next to. Watching them develop is half the fun for me.

I really want us to sign Lee now. Lee is younger, improving, healthier and cheaper than Boozer. I don't trust Boozer, he won't be the same after signing. Lee will improve after the signing, go get him asap.

okay talk. that's what we are going have.

Alrite, to begin with FA is not over yet, there's a loooong way to go. LBJ, Boozer, Lee, Allen, Mike Miller, Ray Allen are all available to varying degrees.

If we don't get any FA's then we start looking at contracts, there's always that route for teams looking to shed salary.

For example, Peja + Okafor for pure salary relief / or for Taj Gibson works for a team like NOH which is looking to shed salary.

Also, let's not forget that we have a Top 3 Center in the East , a Top 10 SF in the league, and a Top 5 PG in the entire league as well. And they are all young.

We have already made a major signing with our coach, who is looking like a great fit for this team. Results remain to be seen.

The problem is always going to be one of expectations: I expect the Bulls to out a great unit out there and fight in the regular season and in the playoffs.

You probably expect us to be a contending team/favorite...that is why you are disappointed. However, the reality is that expectations must be tempered with reality.

To be completely honest, this was a pretty much lockdown scenario from day 1.

we can still rescind on that Washington deal for Kirk before the 8th right? let's get Kirk back because they're aren't a lot of good guards left and we might overpay one. i'd rather have his overpaid as$ here. and Kevin Seraphin might be a sleeper @ PF.

Well, then. Strike out it is. Two immediate comments:
- This is Chicago's third massive failure in free agency in 10 years. Don't. Ever. Do. It. Again. If anything, it may be the worst strike out because the Bulls gave up so much to get here.
- Chicago now has to choose between locking in mediocrity or coming up with a different plan for moving forward. I'm not sure that the knee jerk idea of signing Boozer or Lee is the right idea.

Going to be really interesting to see if Bosh's production spike this last year was just for the contract year, or if he is really that player now into his prime.

Have to admit I was a little worried about Bosh slacking off on a max deal. As he certainly seemed to cool down late in the year in Toronto.

Not to say Boozer and Lee don't have their own concerns too.

Because if I learned anything during the FA period, it is that I want to punch somebody in the face everytime I hear or read the word "source".

It's hit the wires for awhile now. If not true or not a "done deal" the agent, Hank Thomas, would have said as much by now. I know "sourced" rumors hit the wires but they are usually debunked very quickly, especially when they are of this magnitude.

If LeBron was coming to Chicago then Bosh would have joined. Bosh going to Miami with Wade = Bulls shut out.

NY's quick action on Amare doesn't look so bad now.

If LeBron goes to Miami, I'll probably just stop watching basketball for the next 5-7 years.

Return to Chicago Bulls
