I wish that Lebron was more like Kevin Durant, who approaches Lebron in talent, but is not interested in a three ring circus and cares more about his image as a basketball player. I am a Cavs fan first and Lebron has tarnished his image (his inner circle must think this circus was/ is good) for the last two years climaxing with this free agency parade with the other divas like Bosh and Wade. I can't wait for this to be over. If Lebron wants to be the next Art Modell for Northeast Ohio... that's his choice.

HoopsVibe`s Very Quick Call: Can you see the light at the end of the tunnel?

After years of speculation, gossip, drama, innuendo, and (frankly) nonsense, LeBron James will finally enlighten us with a one hour ESPN special announcing where he’ll play next.

Thank you. Thank you so very much LeBron.

Expect the Cleveland Cavaliers to win these bizarre sweepstakes. Cleveland is James’ home. They can offer the most money and longest term.

Owner Dan Gilbert has likely promised to acquire Chris Paul - James’ best friend in the NBA - from the New Orleans Hornets. It’s one reason Gilbert hired Scott, the former sideline boss with Paul`s Hornets.

Most importantly, come Thursday James will have made his decision and we can get on with our lives.

LeBron became free agent to fuel his ego, and it's out of control

But free agency was never a means to an end for James. It was an end unto itself. James, or the people around him, was convinced that he needed the whole world to hang on his future. He needed to let you know on Twitter, that "the Real King James is in the Building." But the real king was Michael Jordan, and he never needed to call himself king. As best as I can remember, Jordan never said he wanted to become a billionaire. He never hinted about getting out of Chicago so he could play with more talent. That's not to say that Jordan did not think of himself as the king -- he most certainly did. And his business aspirations were well-documented.

But Jordan had a different kind of ego. LeBron needs the adoration. Jordan needed to dominate. When Jordan ended his baseball career and returned to the NBA, he did not go on Larry King or feed speculation for months. He put out a two-word press release: "I'm back." He knew that was enough. He knew that what the world really wanted was Jordan on a basketball court, not Jordan in an hour-long TV special.

That is the mutual feeling of about 75% of LeBron's fans. And LeBron just cost his image some more negativity. At this rate, LeBron may be ostracized from the "good guy" group, regardless of where he goes.

I hope his speech is super-great, because he is losing $$$ by the minute now.

Anybody who isn't now cheering for Kevin Durant to win more titles than LeBron/Bosh/Wade isn't paying attention.

If LeBron plans on staying in Cleveland, would he set up this press conference on ESPN? Would it really be BIG news? It is big news for Cleveland, but for everyone else nothing really changes.

Have the Cavs improved over Orlando or Boston? The Heat have improved, the Knicks have improved, the Nets will win more games this coming season, Atlanta and Orlando will stay about the same, Boston will be a year older but still better than the Cavs.

Or is it ESPN that wanted to do this conference and he just agreed to it?

James to Announce Decision Live on ESPN

Maverick Carter, CEO of LRMR Marketing, said today that LeBron James will formally announce where he will play next season and beyond on "The Decision," which will air live on Thursday, July 8, at 9 pm ET on ESPN.

Due to the unprecedented attention and interest surrounding LeBron's decision, we have decided to make this announcement on national television. By doing so we have generated funds that will be given to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. LeBron has a longstanding commitment to giving back to the community, and has worked with the Boys and Girls Clubs in cities across the country. For additional information and any other announcements concerning “The Decision,” check with http://www.LebronJames.com.

This is from LeBron's web-site, and is the press-release, so I pasted it in-full, as is permitted as it has no restrictions.

I think it's funny that the single biggest part about Bosh going to Miami is how does it effect LeBron.

LeBron James: Where Does He Sign?

W/ the announcement of Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh signing in Miami:

W.hat W.ill J.ames D.o?

A: Stay In Cleveland?

If he decides to stay in Cleveland I really expect the news to be followed closely by the Cavs either getting PG Chris Paul and/ or PF Carlos Boozer (the return of the C U Next Tuesday). Don't laugh at this notion, David Stern gets down like that.

Chris Paul

B: Sign W/ Miami?

Join Miami's new duo of Dwyane Wade & Chris Bosh? The only drawback to this move is someone's taking a paycut between Bosh (w/ Toronto maybe getting a $16M TPE via S&T, likely not CB4) or James (if Miami can convince CLE to do a S&T for Beasley +) makes this scenario highly unlikely but still a possibility. I don't see James taking the paycut out of those 2.

C: Sign W/ New York?

Join Amar'e Stoudemire in the Big City Of Dreams?

Mike D'antoni & Donnie Walsh

D: Sign W/ Chicago?

Join young' uns Derrick Rose & Joakim Noah in Chicago under the shadow of Michael Jordan in the United Center, the House that MJ built?

E: Sign W/ New Jersey/ Brooklyn?

Go to the soon to be Brooklyn Nets w/Devin Harris & Brook Lopez and play Who Wants To Be A Billionaire?

F: Sign W/ Los Angeles?

Could they be the biggest sleeper in this w/ a nice core of Baron Davis, Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, and Blake Griffin? Would he dare challenge Kobe in his own House?

Cleveland may be getting played here by LeBron. Looks like he might leave.

Cavs are being real quiet ... Like Raps were yesterday...& Bosh is now officially gone.

Neither Wade nor Bosh has set terms, sounds like. Waiting for LeBron. If he doesn't come, then sign and trade could still happen. But ... 2 minutes ago via web Retweeted by you

Pure speculation here, but couldn't help but feel both Wade and Bosh know exactly what LeBron is doing.

Lost in all of the hyperbole is the fact that the Magic, Lakers, Celtics, and perhaps the Hawks will still be better teams than the Clippers, Cavs, Heat, Bulls, and Knicks. Lets not forget that the Rockets with Yao Ming are major players once again. The Thunder will only continue to develop and improve. If the Blazers are healthy, they might be one of the NBAs elite teams.

At this point, it does not appear the landscape of the NBA has changed much at all.

No matter what happens, LeBron popularity is going to take an enormous hit. I'm not sure I've seen free agency handled so poorly before.
