NBA = dead league

Post#1 » by KEGster » Wed Jul 7, 2010 5:46 pm

Rings no longer matter in this league. If we see the Bulls and their loaded roster completely strike out in this free agency period, it will signal the downfall of the NBA. Half the league and more disturbing most of the Elite players do not care about winning rings. This sport is more about getting paid, having a city to call your own and your sneakers sold.

Other than the Lakers, Celtics, Spurs and Magic. Who is legitimately doing all they can to win a title? They aren't. The NBA is officially more about image than product on the court. No one cares about winning championships any longer.

Which begs the question, why do I continue to use championships as a way to measure and compare the NBA all time greats? It's obvious half the league does not care about it.

Says the sad Bulls fan...

why not wait until the signings actually happen huh?

Besides, theres no guarantee going to the Bulls would win anything, last time I checked they were a game from MISSING THE PLAYOFFS IN THE EAST...

Calm down and wake up to reality. Money rules the world, get used to it.

If you were in JJ's shoes you would have taken that deal in a second. If you were Wade or Bron, you'd probably do the same thing, hear out the offers and decide whats best for your future and family. And if that so happens to be pairing up with better talents in a nicer warmer city in Miami or making more long term money in NY, so be it.

And if these guys TRULY wanted to win above all, they'd Ron Artest it and sign an MLE deal with a contender, or force a SnT with one.

Considering that money wise everything was even

Bulls were without a doubt the best destination for RINGS. So for 3 of the ELITE players in this league rings did not matter in their decision making of where to spend the next 5 seasons.

How is that not an alarming sign for this league? 3 of their elite players do not care at all about championships

Why just stop at the big 3? Every free agent passed on the chance for a ring by not signing with the stacked bulls. :lol:

Exactly my point.

3 of the sports elite players do not care AT ALL about winning championships. So why even bother watching the NBA playoffs and why should one care who wins a ring or not when this sport is almost entirely based on the regular season - selling "my product"

Wade liked Miami better, don't get offended. You've gotten 6 championships thanks to Jordan, stop complaining.

Ummm, why?

Because the league is no longer about winning championships. No one is trying to win on the court, it's about style and selling "my product". It's been like this since the early 90's but this signifies an all time low. Players signing to expansion rosters because it's easier to sell "my product" when your the only marketable face on the roster
