It said in the article that he couldn't get permission from the Wolves to play.

He doesn't need the Wolves permission.

It depends what the contract says.

Wrong. The only way an NBA team can prevent a player from playing in a FIBA competition is if his contract in uninsured.

If that's true fine, but the article says the Wolves didn't grant their approval.

Whether Darkos not playing because the Wolves told him not to or requested it seems like a fairly minor distinction.

He still hasn't signed the deal, so he isn't a timberwolf yet. He can do whatever he wants.
And yes, peko and beli are playing for their national teams instead of playing summer league ball.

Very perceptive of you my good Sir. Allow me to inform that the initial source of this rumour*, which many serbian sports media and several international are directly or indirectly referring to, is a frontrunner yellow stamp "newspaper". Their history of rumours is about 90% innacurate when it comes to sports. I am rather confident that their credibility is no different in this particular instance.

It appears as if we can merely speculate why Milicic did not show up for NT gathering.

*is "kurir" : http://translate.google.com/translate?j ... l=sr&tl=en
simple and plain a BS paper.
