Elite players teaming up seems more to me like they actually want to win championships. This entire thread is a contradiction.

Off the court and selling "my product" is all that matters to 99% of the Elite players in this league. The greatest player the league has had in a decade is more concerned about being the next Jay-Z than winning titles....which I thought was the goal at the end of the day

Are you NBA "fans" really gonna sit around and jerk off to the next 5 Laker titles?

So you're telling us the only way that the Lakers won't win "the next 5 titles" is if Wade and Bosh join the Bulls?

Think about it dude. Do you REALLY care how well the company you work for does, so long as you get your raise and bonus? I mean, who really gives a crap if the firm you work for is #1 in the industry. At the end of the day, its all about the bucks kid. Ask Gordon Gekko, or Latrell Sprewell....

what company you work for, has the goal in mind of winning an NBA championship? when you have a fanbase that pitches in and pays for those salaries, those fans want to see winning. they are not there just to pay salaries, they want results!

Considering that money wise everything was even

Bulls were without a doubt the best destination for RINGS. So for 3 of the ELITE players in this league rings did not matter in their decision making of where to spend the next 5 seasons.

How is that not an alarming sign for this league? 3 of their elite players do not care at all about championships

I thought, NBA players caring too much about championships and not about the home team was what's wrong with the NBA.

What you seem to be missing is that it was also about chemistry. I don't think Bosh wants to be 3rd fiddle on a team. I think he wants to be 2nd fiddle, and maybe, some people don't like the cold.

Free agency is a crap shoot - NOBODY should know that better than the Bulls and Bulls fans.

Yes, what league have you been watching the past 10 years? Other than the Pistons 5
- Spurs and their - Duncan, Manu, Parker
- Celtics and their 3 HOF's

have been the only teams to defeat the Lakers. Did you not see 20 more free throws in Game 7?

Bosh and Wade teaming together in MIA I'm PRETTY sure is about trying to put together a winning team. So is what NY did. And NJ. And Chicago. And the Clippers. All of this craziness was done so they could have a chance of winning one of the big players in free agency this year. The problem with this however always was what if you clear this room and are left with nothing? I think most people knew that was a pretty big risk for every team giving up something for nothing the last year or two.

Just because it looks like Chicago may strike out doesn't mean the league doesn't care about winning. It just means you put all your eggs in one basket. Every organization in the league wants to win (some of them make it hard to see).

Also, thanks for Salmons. Enjoy Alexander.

Are Manu and Parker HOF players now? Were any of the Celtics before they won a championship? I would say even they may have been pretty close (especially Pierce).

The rings thing was covered on the 1st page. Rings barely matter when discussing NBA greatness because most of the Elite players no longer care about it, it's like winning the World Series in baseball - rarely goes to the BEST player

MVPs > Finals MVPs > Rings

I don't understand your line of thinking?

You want players to go to the Bulls to have the Bulls win rings? Or have their legacy resume look good?

I know I haven't been watching a league with Bosh and Wade on the same team, that's for sure.

The only two teams that should be involved in this FA bonanza were the Knicks and Nets. Knicks HAD to do this. We weren't gonna stick with Crawford, Zbo, etc. The Knicks roster needed to be purged after Isiah. Same with the Nets, they are rebuilding, dumped Carter/Kidd/Jefferson, it makes sense for them to go into 2010 free agency.

But the Bulls? How many years of the lottery does that team need? They were getting top draft picks left and right for a decade. Everyone from Brand, Artest, Gordon, Heinrich, Rose, etc - it's a pretty comprehensive list. Yet here they are, gutting their entire roster for this FA nonsense. They should have resigned Gordon to something reasonable, and targeted a realistic free agent like Boozer/Amare/Bosh aggressively. What they did with this 2 max crap, trying to copy the Knicks and Nets who have no other choice, was just reckless.

Miami, another garbage franchise. Won a championship, and before you know it, the team is tanking for a the number one pick, even with a superstar in Wade. Yet here they are again, gutting the entire roster. The sad thing is Wade + Bosh most likely won't be enough.
