No, but he defends the paint. So if you're keeping score:

Defend paint:

Love = -1
Al = -1
Darko = +1

Get back on D:

Love = -1
Al = -1
Darko = -1

I don't think any of our bigs, not matter who it is, will be getting back on D when the other team starts so many possessions on a long rebound. Perimeter guys need to step it up and convert their opportunities so we can get some decent spacing

That's pretty much what I thought of too

Minnesota sends Sessions, Jefferson, Ellington, and Hollins to Denver
Denver sends Martin and Lawson to Indiana and Kleiza to Minnesota
Indiana sends George, Ford, and Foster to Minnesota

Minnesota
Flynn/Ford
Brewer/George
Webster/Johnson/Hayward
Love/Kleiza
Darko/Pekovic/Foster

Indiana
Lawson/Rush/Granger/Murphy/HIbbert with a bench of Price/D. Jones/Dunleavy/Hansbrough/Martin
-good core of Lawson/Rush/Granger/Hansbrough/Hibbert with lots of cap space next year

Denver
Billups/Smith/Melo/Jefferson/Nene with a bench of Sessions/Ellington/Afflalo/Balkman/Bird Man/Hollins
-that's a scary starting 5

I'm curious as to why Anderson has not been brought up at all. We keep talking about bringing in a shot blocking athlete, why not birdman as part of a package? He is a bit old, and crazy, but he is way cheaper then Smith and fits a need. I'm not advocating, just curious as to why he hasn't even been in the conversation.

Speaking of JR Smith: After the spurs eliminated the Nuggets, someone on NBA.com, I think Aldridge(I can't find the link), wrote an article about the antics of JR smith at halftime of the elimination game.

Apparantly he spent a good portion of his post half time rewarming up time trying to bounce the ball into the hoop from the three point line, while Popovich and his staff tried to hold themselves back from laughing. Most important game of the season, dude did not care at all, and was goofing around. No freaking thanks.

1. We need a 3/4 athlete, not another 4/5.
2. He is 32. (birthday today FYI)
3. His contract runs loonger than Jefferson's.

I'd rather have Andersen than Hollins as our 4th or 5th big. Problem is they just don't appear to have the other pieces to land Al. Andersen is a throw in, not a centerpiece.

What is the best we could get from them...Lawson, Afflalo, Andersen, and picks? Not worth it. I like Nene, but seems like at best a relatively lateral move.

Basically, it just doesn't seem like a match.

they have melo, he is the only guy worth trading for. Which is probably why he wants them to get better or he'll leave. No way he signs an extension to stay with that team as they are currently constructed. kmarts broken, billups is old, smith is crazy, coach karl is fighting cancer...

That's not a good deal for Al.
J.R. Smith has brain issues and Anderson is 32, with 4 years remaining on his deal....

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
