Is it in any way conceivable we could bring back AI?

Post#1 » by slipspeed » Wed Jul 7, 2010 7:39 pm

Or is there too much bad blood between the organization and him?

Here is why I think it would make sense from our point of view:
A. We trade JR smith and need a bench scorer
B. Melo and Iverson are close friends, and we need to do anything/everything we can to keep Melo happy.

Why I think AI would do it:
A. He has a house here
B. He knows the players/coaching and he also knows he will get a good amount of minutes as our 6th man.

What do you guys think? Is it possible? AI has stated he doesn't want to retire, and his family is healthy etc..

Ive thought about it a little bit myself if JR were moved. He wouldn't be the worst fit, but there are much better fits, in particular guys who have consistent 3 point shots. Chauncey would allow him to play the 2 where he belongs and yet defend opposing points which was the biggest on court problem with him while he was here. The big problem here is that I think he wore out his welcome with his partying with the younger players. Cant keep everybody up drinking till the sun comes up and expect them to be able to go out and preform. Allen may be able to do that, but most players can't and probably shouldn't. I hope he finds somewhere to play because I still love watching him play when he's on, Im just not sure a return to Denver is best for the team.

no... while I'm part of the few that think AI could probably still ball, he would be so much of a distraction for this team, our locker room doesn't have enough veteran presence to control him.... I wish him the best, but not with Denver... I want him to be succesful still, so I hope he goes to Boston or New York

I feel bad for AI, but I don't want him back. I wish him all the best.

NO, **** No.

You want to move JR because he is immature, and bring in someone who is 10 years older and just as immature?

Nope.

He was the sole reason why we lost to the Spurs. That series we should've won but AI couldn't do **** despite having no one defending him.
