Congrats to Thunder fans

Post#1 » by Arose1980 » Wed Jul 7, 2010 3:57 pm

Hey guys and gals,

I'm a Lakers fan but I gotta say congrats to you guys on having one of the best and classiest players in the league in KD. Seriously, you guys scared the crap out of us last year and I look forward to a few more series with the Thunder. I'm hoping your front office will continue to build around KD. He and you fans deserve a winner! CONGRATS

I also would like to extend congratulations to the Thunder fans.

Also, I admire Thunder fans for being the loudest, seemingly most passionate fans in the NBA. Keep rocking that arena. Your team is going to be a contender for years to come

Agree 110% with the OP. To have a Top5 guy in the league that wants to be where he is and that's not Miami or LA hats off to you. A terrifically ran organization and the classiest star in the league.

Wish Toronto could say the same or that you'd just move back to Seattle so I could call you my home team again

You don't get to see that nowadays.
The most recent case was Reggie Miller and the Pacers.

Mad respect to KD and the Thunder organization.

He just said top 5 guy in the league ^ Reggie Miller does not fit in that category.

Either way, congrats, you guys are gonna have a tremendous next 5 or so seasons.

i was always a westy fan because he went to ucla. i became an okc bandwagoner when i watched the lal series and the almost college-like fan support for the team. the team displayed uncommon maturity and discipline,,,very goal oriented for such a young team.

now this durant signing cinches it(that and him saying he always wanted to go to ucla). you've got the best set of young guards.

Lets just say all star.
Didn't really come up with a top 5 player who doesn't jump ship, other than Jordan who is as big of a media whore as Lebron.

Bird didnt change and Magic didnt change, but Jordan went to the Wizards = BIG mistake

Durant will retire in OKC and hopefully do better than Reggie did and win at least one ring.

+1 guys. You guys have a great team full of talented and classy guys. Which isn't a combination we see a lot of these days in professional sports. Good luck this season.

Magic fan here and watching Durant in Orlando during summer league play is a stark contrast to he who shall not be mentioned.

I think you guys with one more piece can take the Lakers and give the new team that shall not be named fits.

In a year or two Durant will be the best player in the League. IMO

Over the past year the Thunder have quietly become my second favorite team. No one could ever take the place of the Raptors...but OKC has built the most likable, exciting, and classy team in the league. I honestly hope KD spends the next decade humbly and respectfully stomping on the hearts and dreams of Heat and Laker fans everywhere.

Also Agree with OP took the words out of my mouth. I have been saying that OKC plays the game the right way for a while. They are my 3rd fav team behind the Raps and the Spurs who they resemble in the class department, strong front office and coaching and commitment to defense. Fans who live in OKC and have the opportunity to watch games live and have this classy offensively talented and defensively adept team represented them as their home team are very lucky.

Great post OP. Great thread in general. It's a shame more superstars don't have the temperament of Durant. You just can't help but to respect the guy, and that's as a person, not even speaking on behalf of his unreal abilities as a player.

Glad OKC held on to him.

+1 Durant is one of my favorite players in the L I am happy he is locked up in OKC and the main reason I respect Kevin so much is because of his low key personality. He is so selfless and classy which are rare quality's to find in superstar NBA players let alone most players in the association.

Ya i really like Kevin Durant good to see a player stay home with no problem. I dont like the direction the NBA is heading with these superstars teaming up, but Durant didint do that good for him and you guys. LETS GO OKC up to you guys and the Lakers to make sure the heat dont get a championship lol.

As a Cavs fan I must co-sign this.

I have no hard feelings against LeBron at all because everyone doesn't have to be like a Durant, but KD is the type of star Cleveland fans appreciate in the vein of a Mark Price, Brad Daugherty, Ozzie Newsome, Clay Matthews, etc...

I rooted for him as a part of the Cavs, but I was never a LeBron fan. He's just not the type of player I could ever call myself a fan of.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

Thanks OP. By securing our humble superstar for a long time, I see us making stronger moves in the future and luring other star players to OKC. Let's prove next season to the whole league that we got the mvp (no jinx) and its gonna_B_KD!! :tooth
