Post#881 » by LAnd-of-champs » Wed Jul 7, 2010 9:11 pm

Raymond Felton he is only 26
Still Raw but has alot of upside ( DFish Could Groom him into a good role playing Point guard like he was himself and would allow Sasha and shanon to play their best offensive positon a 2 guard
i think it could work

I like to see Tmac or K. Thomas to take the rest of the mle for 2 yrs, either one would be good for me. BOTH would make it a GREAT off-season even if Tmac stinks lol

There is another way to get one of these remaining big time free agents, such as a Mike Miller or the like. If the Lakers are able to trade Vujajic to a team that needs to fulfill salary cap floor obligations this upcoming year, we'd receive an exception that can be used to S and T for a player like a Mike Miller or a Brandon Morrow.

Perhaps Vujajic+1st to NJ. We save 7m total off of Buss' pocket books if you figure the pick is worth 3m. We could then use that instead of the 1.8m in cap room to acquire an excellent backup wing player.

I'm still holding out hope for a Bynum/Griffin combo up front for the Clips, while trying to give the Lakers a sweet deal as well. How does this sound?

Clippers Get: Bynum/Vujacic/Rights to D. Jones
Clippers Give: Kaman

The Clippers pair Bynum with Griffin, and get another young first round prospect. Plus they get Sasha's expiring contract to use as their backup wing instead of overpaying for a wing in free agency.

Lakers Get: Haywood (S&T 4yrs/40mil?)/Butler
Lakers Give: Bynum/Vujacic

The Lakers get a good defensive center to replace Bynum, along with another very good scoring wing to take some of the pressure off of Kobe (and so Artest doesn't feel like he has to jack up any wild shots), and they would be adding on much of any salary, if any.

Mavs Get: Kaman
Mavs Give: Haywood (S&T 4yrs/40mil?)/Butler/Rights to D. Jones

They would probably do this, because they would like to do a Butler/D. Jones for Kaman swap to pair Dirk with Kaman, which would mean Haywood would go elsewhere anyways.

If Miami really is assembling that ridiculous trio the Lakers need to acquire Raja Bell just for the fouls he can provide against Wade.

Bell is a must. We would be incredibly stupid not to pick him up, especially since the cap has been increased. I can't believe we'd be unwilling to spend more money when franchises such as the Heat and Bulls are more than willing to sign 3 max players.

I'd also start exploring the possibility of getting Marc Gasol from the Grizzlies via S&T. If Bynum is not in tip top form by the All-Star break then Pau needs to start working his brother a little and getting him to come out and say that he's leaving the Grizz. That might make them interested in doing a swap for Bynum. Just a thought.

if Caracter does not impress in the summer league and pre-season, what about Etan Thomas to replace Powell and Mbenga for the minimum?

CRASH to the Lakers

Los Angeles Lakers

Out: Lamar Odom, Ron Artest, Sasha Vujacic ($20 million)
In: Gerald Wallace, Shane Battier ($19.8 million)

Why? Get two great defenders for one great defender. The loss of Odom as the 3rd and only big can be filled with Wallace's and Battier's rebounding and good size at the 4. They will need these in match-ups against the Heat (especially if LeBron goes there), or any team LeBron goes to, the Celtics, Nuggets, any elite teams basically.

Bynum /Gasol
Gasol /Battier
Wallace /Ebanks
Bryant /Brown?/Bell?/Barnes?somebody...
Blake /Fisher

Houston Rockets

Out: Shane Battier, Trevor Ariza, David Andersen, Jared Jeffries, Kyle Lowry(5 years,$4 million per) ($27.1 million)
In: Lamar Odom, Boris Diaw, D.J. Augustin, Sasha Vujacic ($25.2 million)

Why? Odom and Diaw are great fits next to Yao, and with their versatilty, they can play great together when Yao is out. Both very good rebounders. I don't know if they are looking to re-sign Lowry, so D.J. Augustin is a nice, cheap replacement for him as backup point guard to Brooks. Vujacic is playing in a contract year, so he should be playing much better on D, although I have alway actually liked his energetic full-court defense, and i believe he will shoot the lights out like he did before he got this contract, and like he was knocking them down at the end of the year, this year.
I expect them to sign Matt Barnes or Raja Bell as well.

Ming /Hill /Mbenga?
Diaw /Odom /Hill
Odom /Barnes?
Martin /Bell? /Vujacic
Brooks /Augustin

Charlotte Bobcats

Out: Gerald Wallace, D.J. Augustin, Boris Diaw ($21.4 million)
In: Ron Artest, Trevor Ariza, Kyle Lowry, Jared Jeffries ($23.5 million)

Why? Re-shape their bench and starting lineup with 4 defensive players. Artest and Ariza are capable of scoring more than Wallace, and Artest is the best defender in the NBA, in my opinion. As a backup to Felton, or a starter, Lowry is a tough point guard, who can defend, and isn't scared to take it in against the biggest players. I could see an Artest-Ariza-Jackson backcourt working as well.

Chandler /Mohammad
Thomas /Jeffries
Artest /Ariza /Brown
Jackson /Henderson /Ariza
Felton? /Lowry

Calm down.
Bynum + Artest + Gasol = Bosh + James + a defensive minded center
Kobe + Blake > or = Chalmers + Wade

Lakers bench >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Heat bench.

hmm, i like Etan Thomas idea.

No amount of size or skill is going to make up the gap between Artest and James at SF. Gasol is slightly > Bosh, Bynum is better than anyone they're going to sign even if it's Shaq.

Los Angeles Lakers:

Out: Sasha Vujacic, Luke Walton
In: Hedo Turkoglu

Rumored trade, improve Lakers big time, starting or bench mob.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

Toronto Raptors:

Out: Hedo Turkoglu
In: Emeka Okafor

Basically the same contract, but get a better player and a better fit for their team, next to Bargnani. They just want Hedo out of Toronto.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

New Orleans Hornets:

Out: Emeka Okafor
In: Sasha Vujacic, Luke Walton

Sasha is expiring 5 million. Walton has 3 more years at 5 million each, while Okafor has 4 more years at about 11 million per.

Excellent idea. Marc Gasol may take less money long term to stay with his bro and his game works well with Pau. As Kobe ages, all our hopes rest on Bynum's knees. Not good.

The key to beating the SuperFriends will be dominating inside. If we can control the glass we stop them from running and it would be much easier to beat them in a half court game.

ive always loved to have Marc Gasol on our team, that would be a very good front court, probably the best advantage over almost every other team
